Scripture Passages for Today

Isaiah 66:7-9 KJV

Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.
Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

Psalm 40

I waited patiently for the Lord;
    he inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
    out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
    making my steps secure.
He put a new song in my mouth,
    a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
    and put their trust in the Lord.
Blessed is the man who makes
    the Lord his trust,
who does not turn to the proud,
    to those who go astray after a lie!
You have multiplied, O Lord my God,
    your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us;
    none can compare with you!
I will proclaim and tell of them,
    yet they are more than can be told.
In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted,
    but you have given me an open ear.
Burnt offering and sin offering
    you have not required.
Then I said, “Behold, I have come;
    in the scroll of the book it is written of me:
I delight to do your will, O my God;
    your law is within my heart.”
I have told the glad news of deliverance
    in the great congregation;
behold, I have not restrained my lips,
    as you know, O Lord.
10 I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart;
    I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation;
I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness
    from the great congregation.
11 As for you, O Lord, you will not restrain
    your mercy from me;
your steadfast love and your faithfulness will
    ever preserve me!
12 For evils have encompassed me
    beyond number;
my iniquities have overtaken me,
    and I cannot see;
they are more than the hairs of my head;
    my heart fails me.
13 Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me!
    O Lord, make haste to help me!
14 Let those be put to shame and disappointed altogether
    who seek to snatch away my life;
let those be turned back and brought to dishonor
    who delight in my hurt!
15 Let those be appalled because of their shame
    who say to me, “Aha, Aha!”

Psalm 27

The Lord is my light and my salvation;
    whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
    of whom shall I be afraid?
When evildoers assail me
    to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes,
    it is they who stumble and fall.
Though an army encamp against me,
    my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
    yet I will be confident.
One thing have I asked of the Lord,
    that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
    and to inquire in his temple.
For he will hide me in his shelter
    in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
    he will lift me high upon a rock.
And now my head shall be lifted up
    above my enemies all around me,
and I will offer in his tent
    sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make melody to the Lord.
Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud;
    be gracious to me and answer me!
You have said, “Seek my face.”
My heart says to you,
    “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”
    Hide not your face from me.
Turn not your servant away in anger,
    O you who have been my help.
Cast me not off; forsake me not,
    O God of my salvation!
10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me,
    but the Lord will take me in.
11 Teach me your way, O Lord,
    and lead me on a level path
    because of my enemies.
12 Give me not up to the will of my adversaries;
    for false witnesses have risen against me,
    and they breathe out violence.
13 I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
    in the land of the living!
14 Wait for the Lord;
    be strong, and let your heart take courage;
    wait for the Lord!

Please add more below... Grace and peace to all of you.

  1. Nation means "Birth" it has nothing to do with Israel; it is a Nation of Believers, re-born of the Holy Spirit since Pentecost. "Born Again" refers to both physical and SPIRITUAL rebirth; the SPIRIT is quickened at the Baptism of Fire and the Holy Ghost; the physical re-birth comes after our death just as happened with Jesus.

  2. There are two passages of Scripture that I think we may also want to be thinking about. The first one is from Luke:

    Luke 12:45-46: "But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers."

    The message is pretty clear. It would be easy to start thinking "Maybe Christ isn't coming back as soon as we thought. That means I have plenty of time to go back into sin. After all, he's not going to catch me." Christ is warning against that dangerous line of thinking. Notice, too, how Christ clearly predicted that people would start to think that His return had been delayed, and would use that as an excuse for sin. Do not fall into this temptation.

    The second is from Jeremiah. In Jeremiah 37:6-10, God told Jeremiah that the Chaldeans were going to come against Jerusalem and burn the city with fire. At that time the nation was saying "Oh, I'm not going to worry about the Chaldeans. They're going to go away. There's nothing to see here. It's all bogus." Jeremiah gave God's message to Judah and warned them that the end was near. Immediately after giving that message, though, the Chaldeans packed up and left (see Jeremiah 37:11). Not only did this ruin Jeremiah's credibility, but it got him arrested and put in prison.

    But you know what? The Chaldeans did come and burn the city, just as God had said. Jeremiah was right, and the message was from God. However, the timing was definitely not what people had expected. Those who trusted Jeremiah were made to look like fools - in the short term. The scoffers had a field day.

    Just something to think about.

  3. We have already quoted Hebrews 10:25 on several occasion and in different context. But read it further (or the whole chapter): especially when it comes to Hebrews 10:37 when Gods inspired word explicitely says "He (Jesus) WILL NOT TARRY" and how we must not "cast away our coincidence" (v. 35) but stay in patience and endurance until the very end. Do we believe this? Do we act accordingly? Yet some of half an hour left to sunset until "twinkling time" begins... Much love, stay firm, MARANATHA!

    'Let the king bring me into His chambers... He has taken me to the banquet hall, and His banner over me is love. Look! There He stands behind our wall, gazing through the windows, peering through the lattice. My lover spoke and said to me, 'Arise, my darling, my beautiful one and come with me. See! The winter is past, the rains are over and gone.' -Songs 2
    Who is this that appears like the dawn, fair as the moon, bright as the sun - majestic as the stars in procession?...' Songs 6:10

Been on fire for these signs and the rapture for the past six months especially. And now it looks like ...nothing . My frustration and disappointment is more than I can remember in my life. Back to living in this sin-scarred world is so sad. I’ll always be a saved believer in Jesus but after these last exhausting months I will never again look for a “possible “ rapture date. 2. According to Leviticus 25: 8,9

      In the year of Jubilee, both the Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement are celebrated on the 10th of the 7th Month. i.e. 10th of Tishri.

      During the normal years the FOT falls on the 1st of Tishri and the Day of Atonement on the 10th of Tishri (Leviticus 23:23-27)

      This year being Jubilee year, both Feast of Trumpets and Day of Atonement will be on 10th of Tishri i.e. 30th September

  8. Despite still being here the sign still happened. It has to be significant.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Nope, wasn't significant at all. Remember chapters and verses were added to the bible after the fact...read Revelation 11:14 onwards for the context. The signs talked about in rev 12 take place mid tribulation, after many lightnings, thunderings, voices from heaven, earthquake, and great hail. Also the dragon was never a part of "the sign" so it was false from the beginning.

      Delete
    2. I respectfully disagree Ryan. Your assertion that scriptures have been manipulated is the exact reason why this sign has significance. The stars cannot be manipulated. They cannot be taken away from and nothing can be added to them. God created them (and everything else). It is our choice what we believe, and I agree with Ned. Rev 3:3 is clear....if we do it watch we will not know. I cannot ignore that scripture nor Micah 5:3. Anyway, blessings brother.

    3. Revelation is a parenthetical book. Rev12 tells the full story from beginning til end of 7 year tribulation period. So it has to begin with the sign which we just saw align yesterday.

    1. We are waiting for the 7th and final Trumpet; the 3rd Woe! sounded by the 7th Angel. El is
      Saturn the Phoenician Lord; Elohim is plural; Babel means "Gate of El"; Babylon means "Gate of Osiris" Osiris another name of Saturn. Israel flies the Six Pointed Star of Saturn (Amos 5:26)

    2. But scripture proves that it's the feast of trumpets last trump. one example would be that Jesus has already fulfilled the 1st four feast days. He will continue to fulfill them in chronological order. this is just one of many examples that points to the rapture at the feast of trumpets. if it's not this year, it could be next year or several years away.

      Delete
    3. The thing is that He might fulfill the FoT at His Second Coming. I've always held this possibility too, just in case. I guess we won't know for sure until the rapture happens. The last trump might solely connected to the heavenly trumpets. We'll see what the 30th of September will bring. But, maybe we won't have to wait even that long!

  10. Here in the UK the 23rd is still severa hours from being over and in Jerusalem it is also still about 4 and a half hours from 24 september as I understand the 2 hour time difference so although I am disappointed, it’s not over yet

    2. Nadia,

      There might be a good chance that we won't have to wait for another FoT to come. The possibility was always there that the rapture probably isn't connected as closely to FoT as we're expected. In case FoT and Yom Kippur will be on the same day this Jubilee Year according to "Heaven's Calendar", the 30th of September might be the date the Lord chooses, only He knows that for sure. This year is still a strong candidate for being the year of the rapture.

  11. I would just like to say how gratefully I stand in this camp of believers who are humble, gentle, patient and kind..... Unsealed, Rev12 Daily, Rev Ch 12 and many others.... - faithful to follow God's call and doing so with gentleness and respect. When mocked, receiving it with humility. When laughed at, willing to let God deal with those who laugh in His own good time. It is very evident t that love undergirds all that you do, not only in word but in reality.

    I am weary of the scoffers (my husband is one of them, and I pray daily for God to put a seal over my lips - as it has not been given to him to hear....) and the 'know it all's' - the religious 'VIP's who seem to have forgotten that little man is, after all, dust and ashes.... while God is God, and His deep wisdom beyond our tracing out or understanding. He will be true to Himself - to His character, His word and His creation. He has already foreordained all events - and He will not be mocked. Whatever comes today or tomorrow, I pray God will give us grace to respond as our precious Lord himself did when He was mocked, unjustly accused and brutally treated - as a lamb silent before her shearers. May we be content to let God be God. In His own perfect time He will glorify His own great name and vindicate His
    servants! He will not share His glory with another, and at the end of the day we will all be level at the foot of the cross... May we continue to pray and watch and wait for His very soon return - be it today or down the road a bit.... I'm so grateful for this community of saints. You have become family to me, and I look forward to going home - very soon. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts....' -Isaiah 55:9 'Oh the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God....' 12. The Rev 12 Sign’s “just aligned”… Nothing’s over yet!!! It might turn out that the rapture is not as closely connected to the Feast of Trumpets as it’s been thought before but that doesn’t mean that it is not very-very close! As some of the brethren here said the sign will be there and perfectly seen during the day of the 24th of September too. There’s the possibility of the rapture happening on the 30th of September as well! IF it’s not happening today, it could literally happen on any day now and “high-watch” won’t be focused only around the twilights in Israel. Literally any day now. The Lord put there this Sign to assure us that the rapture is close, much closer than ever before, we’re almost there!

    4. Nora, just in addition: perhaps 24th might not at all be such a bad idea as I recall Joshua 3:1-5 the entering of the promised land. Look how it says "3 days gathering at Jordan" and then on the "next day / tomorrow" God would do "wonders among" them. So perhaps the mockers of Koinonia House (Ron Matsen again) have been crowing too soon? After all, I will still trust in the perfect plans of God, a little sad, sobered and humbled but not fallen or depressed. Let's see then what might happen on 30th September. I am quite sure God isn't yet done with 2017. This period in between might give more room for the mockers and naysayers to laugh about us. Perfect irony: laughs best who laughs last! :)

    5. Annabel,

      "This period in between might give more room for the mockers and naysayers to laugh about us. Perfect irony: laughs best who laughs last! :)"

      EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS! That's what I was about to say. I have the feeling that maybe the Lord wants the mockers of the world to go into absolute over-drive and THEN at a time He sees fit, He'll rapture us! That would be a give back for secular skeptics! Also, probably an even more srtonger fullfillment of that prophecy of last days mockers. As for mockers who are fellow believers, I don't have a stance (or any idea) on that, that's totally between them and the Lord. I mean, I don't want to point any fingers at them, knowing how much I need the Lord's mercy constantly!

    1. He’ll return someday puts us back under the doctrine of imminence whereas most of the world both saved and unsaved live. That way they can do as they please. I don’t want to live under that doctrine because it discourages us to look for the sign of his return. Also Jerusalem time is sunset to sunset- it’s the 24th now in Israel. Shalom

    2. "I don’t want to live under that doctrine because it discourages us to look for the sign of his return." While knowing that He is very near I'm happy to looking for Him giving us more and more signs and comfirmations about His soon return.

Like the wise virgins keep our lamps full, while the (bridegroom tarried)..We stay alert and ready. We focus on the Our Father in Heaven, Jesus our Savior and the Holy Spirit...and we pray for our watchmen ( Unsealed, Scott C, Adam, Barry S, Jerry T and many others.) I pray for wisdom and Grace and Mercy and Strength to keep going...( the Magi took a couple of years to find Jesus after the star.. They did not stop looking).. 16. Times like this are even more fitting for not ceasing of prayers, especially the ones that are for unsaved loved ones to get saved, asking the Lord to be merciful toward them and open their eyes! All the time is left is precious concerning unsaved people! The other is the prayer of the Bride: "Come, Lord Jesus!" Even if these two themes feel like a contradiction, the Lord could handle it, nothing's impossible to Him and with Him!

  19. It is easy to get discouraged, but if I am honest every time I knew for sure what the Lord was planning I have been wrong. I was discouraged after the eclipse because I thought there would be plenty of other things to go along with the eclipse on the same day. I thought it would be obviously a sign. Then a few days later the hurricanes and earthquakes and sun spots started to appear and it was clear the the eclipse was a sign but not the way I expected.

    I still think the sign is valid even if nothing happens this weekend. I think we will be able to look back and see that today is the beginning of the Tribulation even though it doesn't seem like it. Today being the tribulation matches up with so many future dates that it only makes sense. But again it is not working out the way I expected.

    I'm working hard to wait and be patient. What other choice do I have?

    Don't give up. This could be our 7 day warning as when Noah and his family where locked in the ark 7 days before the flood. I'm sure that sounds like justification. Maybe it is but I know that whenever the rapture occurs we will all look back from heaven and say of course. That makes sense. Until
    Then Psalm 27

Also many things in the Bible that seemed like a failure at the time and were the opposite. The Red Sea, Joseph being sold, the cross, etc. Our God is famous for doing impossible things at the perfect time! And if He is waiting so He can save more people we will be happy about it.

  21. Right now, it will bring glory to Almighty God for the body of believers to resonate far and wide, in every arena and forum available, just how GLORIOUS this sign in the heaven truly is that we are witnessing right now on earth! It is this sign He led us to. To see it with our own eyes and proclaim it to the world. We are His messengers and servants, declaring that HE is on the throne, as the world events spin into prophesied turmoil. We are watching for Jesus return as commanded. The fulfillment of Rev 12:1-2 sign in the heavens is a stand alone, fulfilled event as of today! Lets proclaim it! How GLORIOUS the sign in heaven is! Hallelujah! Glory be to God! Proclaim it from the rooftops with heads held high. Our Lord has written in the stars His intentions and plans, to confirm and validate the yearning we have in our hearts to be home in Heaven. He is with us and will not forsake us. Be of good cheer, our Savior Jesus has overcome the world. He said our redemption draws near when we see these things culminate, this is TRUTH, and revelation declares that Jesus is prophecy. Keep faith & stay strong, body of Christ. We battle principalities, not flesh.

    Here it is:
    I saw in the dream a young woman in her early twenties and she was dressed in a long blue travel coat. She was very beautiful and had her hair and makeup on with pretty earrings.

    She was at the train station ready to go somewhere, She had her suitcases with her. She straining on her tiptoes looking with her hand above her eyebrow, shielding her eyes from the light to see if she could see the train in the distance.

    The young woman could see much up the train track as there was mountains and a corner.... she then turns around at the clock to see the time and I hear a voice say a 5 min delay....

    The young woman was discouraged and wondering if her train was ever going to show up..... but just as she was about to give up she sees some steam coming up just around the corner....it was one of those old steam engine trains....... and then she starts jumping up and down and saying its coming its coming!!! then she sees the train pull in and the conductor motions her with he hand to come aboard....then the steam from the train envelopes her she disappears into the midst onto the train..

    I awake now and know the Lord is saying the 23rd will not be the rapture date but to keep watching on our tiptoes for Him to come because it will not be far around the corner.

    God bless all my brothers and sisters in Christ who have been eagerly watching , waiting and studying Gods Word during the past 2-3 years....Lets not give up now!! The sign DID complete in the heavens and it IS significant. Let the mockers and scoffers have there day, when we get on the other side in heaven all this will seem like nothing. Stay on high alert. I have found that God is often bigger than our understanding and often surprises us in the way He does things.
    Our God is faithful and true and His Word can be relied upon.
    Love you all,
    Keep looking up!!

    1. Thanks for sharing your dream! "...but to keep watching on our tiptoes for Him to come because it will not be far around the corner." I have this as a gut-feeling!

  25. Let us not forget the other converging signs still happening. Right after the UN Peace day on Sept 21, the tension in Middle east is still ramping up. As I type this comment, the US have the B1B bomber flying just off the coast of NK. "For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape."

    Remember, the woman bleeds and will still need to clear the placenta. I made a google search "Placenta Expulsion: also called as afterbirth. Occurs when the placenta comes out of the birth canal after childbirth. The period from just after the placenta is expelled is called THE THIRD STAGE OF LABOR".

    My two cents.

    Maranatha.

    1. I remember Pastor JD Farag saying (maybe in his latest prophecy-update) that he believes so, when the rapture happens, destruction will come with it on many fronts, including major war(s) breaking out. Maybe it will happen that way.

  26. I was just sitting and wondering if this is going to be more "days of Noah" or "days of Lot"? Noah had to sit around for a week of mocking, waiting for things to really get started. Lot got warned at the last minute and literally snatched out by the angels.
    Maybe we're Team Noah? Maybe some more folks are going to be supernaturally woken up closer to the last minute - Team Lot? Maybe we are looking at the 30th?

    1. Stacy, nice slice and dice to divide the Word. That feels to be a truly Spirit led unpack of those two phrases we so quickly mentally check off and hurry past. I've had strong leanings to the 30th since hearing about the delay of FOT on a Jubilee, days ago, and your idea sounds like the call of a 2nd Witness to me. Maranatha!

  27. While I have generally placed 'pre-wrath' comments on these sites, and have noted that I believe 23 Sept is pointing to the possible start of the trib, I must admit that I have spent the last couple of days saying 'what if Im wrong, and we are about to go'. Even my normal work has taken a dive in the last week in anticipation that this could be 'it', even though the bible makes it clear that the AC must be revealed prior to us being raptured. We have to go back to first principles and note that Rev 12 is structured in a way that should be read as one sentence following another (unlike the entire book of Rev). That is, that the labour pains come first, AFTER which comes the birth of the male child. We need to prepare ourselves for this coming year, as there is still significance in the 120/100/70/50/40 years, and this coming year may well be a doozie.

    Don't give up hope brothers and sisters, that is the worst thing you could do. Those who believed the rapture would take place in the 70s were left deeply disappointed, to the point that many turned to a preterist perspective, and others stopped looking for 'the blessed hope'. We have seen things heating up significantly this last month, and the next few weeks could be extremely telling. BE ENCOURAGED AND KEEP YOUR EYES FIRMLY ON CHRIST!!!

    1. As for me, just because the rapture haven't happened yet, doesn't mean that it won't happen soon. I still believe the *opposite*, namely that the AC will appear after the rapture. I'm very frim in that belief. I know that we probably won't convince each other about our differing rapture-timing views and it is not my aim! I just felt the need to add my 2 cents.

    2. Correction: be it soon or not so soon (the rapture I mean) that won't change my stance on the pre-trib rapture.

    3. Yes, and what about 2 Thes. 2? The AC appears after "the restrainer" is removed. I've always felt that must be the Holy Spirit indwelling the church. When we're all gone, who will be around to stop all hell from breaking loose?

    4. Nora - totally agree, we have our perspective based on how we are interpreting scriptures. my 2c is that 2 Thes 2 makes it clear (in my perspective) that the rapture won't take place "unless" the things noted "First" take place, i.e. falling away and man of lawlessness is revealed. 'Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction'.

      Anon - The church has never stopped hell from breaking loose, it has always been the Holy Spirit. For the spirit to stop restraining, simply means to stop holding back. It doesn't mean that the Holy Spirit is removed from the earth, it simply means 'stop restraining'. Who is he restraining. The lawless one, thats who. We have to be careful to assume that the removal of restraint by the Holy Spirit means the removal of all people from the earth that the Holy Spirit is indwelling. The bible doesn't say that.

    5. In the end, the Lord Himself will confirm which position is the correct one: pre-, middle-, or post-trib rapture. Let's wait and see what He’ll do! I wish the peace that only He could give for all of us!

    6. p.s. We're all on the same side spiritually, on the Lord's against the powers of darkness!

    7. Through and Through, just like Brad and the Unsealed guys found theologians who believed the male child of Rev 12 to be the church, there are many theologians who believe "the rebellion" or "the apostacy" or "the falling away" of 2 Thess 2 is more correctly translated "the departure". Some early translations used that word. That is a game changer.

      Also, highly recommended are Ken Johnson's video Bible studies on YT. He has dug deeply into the non-canonical books and writings of the early church fathers, all of which support a pre-Trib rapture.

    8. I have always heard that the revealing of the AC and the abomination is in reference to the 2nd coming of Jesus to earth. The apostles didn't know about a rapture and Jesus was talking to Jewish people. They were asking about his kingdom on earth. The apostle Paul first talked about the mystery of the rapture ... After Christ's resurrection. When the abomination happens in the temple, they need to flee Jerusalem.
      My understanding is this is for the Jewish nation and what will happen before Jesus comes back to earth and sets his feet on the Mount of Olives. Thanks.

    9. Hi yes the 'departure' concept has been discussed many times, but it is an incorrect translation. You can see the Greek on biblehub.com

  28. It's currently the second watch in Israel. The third watch will begin at midnight and finish at 3am. The moon only passed into a position beneath the feet of the woman just before the start of the second watch. It's interesting that Jesus warns us he may return around this time in Luke 12:38a "And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so.." Also consider Luke 25:6 and the parable of the virgins - we learn the bridegroom comes in the middle of the night - literally midnight - between the 2nd and 3rd watch of the night. The Rev 12 sign remains 'intact' on the 24th as well so let's all keep looking up!

    1. Right, Daniel! Thought this verse already to be some hint for yesterday night but I was too tired to stay up late... ;) Much blessings!

    2. Daniel, I agree. Jesus may very well come for us during Israel's third watch. Consider Jesus' words in Luke 17:34-36 "I tell you, in that night there will be two men in bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left. Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left." This points to our rapture simultaneously happening during nighttime and daytime.
      So let us remain steadfast in our waiting and watching.

    4. Daniel, I watched the video you posted stating, "The following video changes everything!", as well as a video on the same subject from Barry Scarbrough. It makes sense. And while I wanted the Lord to come get us now, looks like we may have one more week to prepare our hearts for His coming and to pray for those who are unsaved. Maranatha! Dina

  29. Ik don't know if this is true, but a jewish wedding can never take place on a feastday or on a sabbath.
    The bridegroom takes his bride to the bridesroom at midnight.

  30. Our Lord is full of surprises. It should not surprise us that we may not be able to predict the exact day and the hour. Or that perhaps every detail isn't exactly as we thought it would be. But this work is very solid and the correlation with world events has been amazing. Keep the faith, with a heart filled with hope and humility. God Bless.

  31. Here is something we forgot that has been established in the bible since Genesis.

    God doesn't work on the Sabbath so of course nothing would happen today.

    1. I dunno, Jesus and the disciples always seemed to be doing stuff that the Pharisees deemed "work" on the sabbath - healing, picking wheat to eat... I don't know if rapruring counts as work to God!

      But on that note, it DID cross my mind that the people Jesus mentioned in Luke 17 were working - women grinding, men in the field, then one taken and the other left. That wouldn't be happening on the sabbath. FWIW!

Colossians 3:2-4

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Philippians 3:20-21

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
