Review of 'The Sign' on DirecTV (It's decent!)

As most of you know, a much anticipated documentary was premiered tonight. I just finished watching it and as you can see above I am happy to report that I tentatively recommend it!

If you are going to tell a non-believer or people who haven't seriously studied the Rev12 Sign for themselves you probably wouldn't want to use this as your only source of info (obviously).

UPDATE:  As of 9/21/17 this program can now be viewed for free online.  Click this link to watch it now...

A majority of the content is quite good actually, and the presentation is very high quality. No commercials (in the premier at least) which was great.  But there are differing viewpoints expressed (some for, some against) and a fair amount of them I didn't agree with... (but that's to be expected).  They focused quite a bit on Planet X, and a lot on Israel and the future wars.  The tone is fairly bleak (The end could be coming / prepare for war) so unfortunately many people will walk away with a dark, almost Post-Tribulation outlook... especially since the rapture wasn't even mentioned.  Also, Michael Rood was featured way too much... his views could cause much confusion so beware.  But there were good parts for sure... and they were certainly fair to all involved.  I walked away pleasantly surprised but perhaps that was because my expectations were so guarded.

Overall, I thought the parts when they actually talk about the sign (about 50 minutes in?) were very well done. Scottie and Mark Biltz get decent airtime too which was good to see.  Unfortunately they moved on to Planet X too soon and spent much too much time on it (in my opinion). They should have spent more energy breaking down the Biblical connections rather than so much speculation on the dragon.  But for a TV show the Bible was treated fairly and with respect. The charts, timelines and graphics were very well done. Again, no mention of the rapture at all however which was too bad (you will have to share the hopeful part in person I guess).

It is decent though and is not disrespectful so if you want there are lots of show times coming up in the next 3 days.   So I say check it out if you can... if you can't don't worry about it. It is fairly safe to share with someone, especially if you make a point to have a follow-up to answer questions.  Just don't expect much Pre-Tribulation rapture theology here....  which lead to my biggest complaint:  not enough hope!!

But it could have been much worse... It was not a hit piece and overall I enjoyed it and thought the info was presented in a fairly positive light (once it finally got to the really good info!)

If you don't have DirecTV you can still watch it with this method:
You can do a 7 day free trial of DirecTV Now at this link:

  1. I agree with your preliminary assessment. It could have been worse. This is a rapture sign. There is no other reason for us to get a sign. Someone should have tossed that out there rather than the big red muppet dragon.

    1. I am sure many did.... they deliberately didn't include it. Perhaps the executives made that call?

    2. Hi Brad. We did not deliberately leave out the rapture. No executives made any call against it either. It simply came down to getting in the key information for the broadest audience. Christians don't agree on the details of the rapture so including it would have been more complicated than a less then 90 minute film could explain. In fact i think the rapture could it be it's own series.

  2. I thought it was good, decent. Yes, no salvation message, no Rapture. But what did we expect its regular TV? But I do think that we can put the Salvation message and the Hope message when sharing this documentary.

    1. Yes... that was left out. The Gospel was left out... but I can definitely see how this would cause someone to do their research, and hopefully they would realize their need for Salvation.

  3. Disappointed in the fact that the rapture was not discussed.

  4. They never even talked about the birth of the male child once! Skipped that verse completely!

  5. Thank you!!! I thought starting on the 'prepper' / survivor aspect was a message of no hope - almost post-Trib perspective. Didn't care for the focus on Planet X. There could have been a bit more look into the significance to the Rev. 12 sign. But... it was 'fair' and did give Scottie and Mark Biltz, even Mark Correll some good airtime. I didn't expect the show to mention the 'rapture' part of the passage and the 'male child' aspect.

  6. Any plans to release this to the worldwide general public? I've been anticipating this documentary since I found out about it a couple of months ago...only to find out that I can't watch it apart from the trailer crumbs...many thanks and God bless you for this work, much love from Australia in Jesus Name ❤ 🕆 Shalom

  7. I didn't watch it (not possible from Germany) but from Brads review and your comments here I didn't expect it to be really "biblical" or containing real hope anyway. Here's another review from ESCHATOLOGY TODAY which I find rather telling. Greetings & much love!

  8. this is insanity that it is not available to buy to watch if i do not have a TV SUBSCRIPTION. I WORK during the day, but i have to be glued to the BOOB TUBE to see it when THEY want to show it? ridiculous.

  9. I agree with your assessment, too much Michael Rood, and too much planet X. The good thing is that there are many people out there who have never heard of the Revelation 12 sign, who seeing this documentary, will start looking for a better understanding of the sign, and what's about to come on this earth.

I was with a group of people and one of them said: " I'm not apocalyptic, but with 2 hurricanes, fires burning in the west, and now a large earthquake, it sure looks like something is going on!"

We are certainly in the season of return. It, in fact, may begin as early as next week!!

    Maranantha!

  10. Planet 9 (Yet unnamed) , Planet X "Nibiru", Return of the Messiah, Antichrist as "Evil Personified" in a giant War with Yeshua over "Greater Israel"? All unbiblical nonsense. How about read the bible instead. No 7 Yr Tribulation, No Pre-Tribulation Rapture, no 2nd Dispensation for Israel and the Antichrist is accepted as the real Messiah.
As for Konstantin Batygen's ridiculous Planet 9 theories; watch Plan 9 from Outer Space, the 1957 Sci-Fy movie about Aliens from Planet 9 instead, at least its entertaining.

  11. Directv Now was very easy. Provide a CC, can cancel w/i 7 day period w/o charges. It's on the Audience channel. You do have to wait for the show to come on at the scheduled time. Not sure if you can VOD it, but you can pause during the viewing. When I signed up, there were several different scheduled showings after the premier.

Cancellation was easy. Go to your account, scroll to bottom and Click"cancel."

  12. I thought it should have been labeled "Planet X" instead of "The Sign." Not nearly enough time was spent on the Great Sign itself or why it is even significant. Without it mentioning the rapture, you're like, so what? They seemed to make the connection that the Great Sign is only leading you to Planet X, and then it kind of led you to think, through the interviews of astronomers, that believing there is such a thing as Planet X was foolish. At least that is what I got out of it. I felt it was a bit manipulative.

  13. The Sign had a collection of Satanists like full time Rock Guitarist "Seventh Season" Konstantin Batygin informing us of Planet 9; Karaite Rabbi Michael Rood moving to Jerusalem for the final battle of Good versus Evil; 5X failed Rapture date setter Scottie Clark and Talmudic Rabbi in Sheep's Clothes Mark Biltz telling us return of Jesus is imminent.

  14. I really didn't like the prepper scenes in the beginning. I thought to myself, if I were an unbeliever coming here out of curiosity then I would find Christians to be nuts. I also thought they spent too much time on Rood. Overall, there was not hope in the message because the rapture wasn't even brought up. I do not think I could recommend it.

    2. Sarah, while I understand that perspective as well, allow me to present another experience: my wife and her sister watched last night and wound up talking until 5 this morning about God, Rev12, and Satan's impact on the world. We weren't really certain where her sister stood as it seemed like whenever we brought up Christ or the Bible she wasn't interested - but this documentary caught her attention and we feel opened her eyes.

Would it do the same for everyone? I don't know. But the fact that it did for at least one that I know of makes me feel so happy and grateful.

  16. Saw it tonight. What a crock. Two years five months later. NADA. I actually laughed all the way through it.
Not unlike the Kool Aid drinkers of the past forty years waiting for the mothership to reappear. Picking dates. Weird planet birthing through the Constellation Virgo. Too afraid to name the AntiChrist and False Prophet because you evangelicals support them?

    Sing with me now:
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

    Ultimately.

Colossians 3:2-4

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Philippians 3:20-21

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
