No Man Knoweth the Day or the Hour?
As you probably know, it seems that we are in the season of the Lords return...that seems pretty clear to nearly everyone who is watching. But what has been especially encouraging to me is that as these signs narrow in on a window of time that seems especially promising, we have been given more and more teaching showing us that we can know information about the timing of this event.... BIBLICAL TEACHING which strongly supports the idea that we will see the day approaching IF we are watching! How exciting is that?!!
Just today Robert Breaker and Daniel Matson added to the chorus of teaching showing us how the Bible clearly says we can know. In the video below Robert Breaker gives a FANTASTIC overview and provides many Scriptural connections on this timely and controversial subject. I LOVED this video and have a hunch that once you watch the first 5 minutes you will surely want to watch the whole thing!
If this wasn't enough, Daniel Matson woke up this morning with this topic on his mind as well! In the article below, he provides great insights to the context of when the "Day or Hour" statement was uttered to the disciples. Then he contrasts that with verses from Revelation and the Epistles which were clearly intended for us.... multiple verses which seem to indicate we can know.
View Daniel's article here... I find it amazing that these two teachings came out on the SAME DAY!

Please share this information with anyone and everyone who says "we cannot know". To me it seems to be increasingly clear that WE CAN. What remains to be seen is if the Revelation 12 Sign is indicating the time of the Rapture or not. That is another matter, but as you know there is plenty of evidence supporting that conclusion as well. EXCITING TIMES MY FRIENDS!!

So disappointed about Jan Markell's show again today. Jack Hibbs stated that this sign is not unique and has happened 85 times since Jesus' death. Really? Jack, can we have some PROOF of that, please?
ReplyDeleteRobert Breaker rocks! Thanks for posting and for all the encouragement!
Hibbs only recently learned where the top button is on his shirt, so give him time.
DeleteI am beyond disappointed in Pastor Jack, and he is our Pastor!! I am bummed about it. This teaching by Robert Breaker is EPIC!! Time will tell that's for sure!
DeleteI just saw Robert Breaker's video this morning before I saw it posted on here. In my opinion, this is another confirmation for me that we are witnessing the final days unfold before the rapture of the church. I have a lot of respect for Robert Breaker as a bible teacher with solid doctrine - and for him to cast doubt on the doctrine of imminence holds a lot of weight with me. He doesn't come out and say it, but there is no doubt that he is also expecting the rapture as we are considering the signs and "coincidences." God bless and keep looking up! -Jon
ReplyDeleteThanks Brad! I woke up with these new thoughts in my head and it quickly came about so I had to write it.
ReplyDeletethanks for pointing out the proper wording Daniel. My wider family and I had been discussing the 'no one knows the day or the hour' scriptures last night...at length! I had been discussing Rev3:3, but they were struggling to get away from that one scripture. I will be able to carry on the convo this morning with that new insight in mind.
Delete1492 /eídō ("seeing that becomes knowing") then is a gateway to grasp spiritual truth (reality) from a physical plane. 1492 (eídō) then is physical seeing (sight) which should be the constant bridge to mental and spiritual seeing (comprehension).
DeleteI love the concept of seeing...that becomes knowing...that results in spiritual comprehension
You can't know the day or hour because at any given time of the day there are two days going on around the world. Sometimes three days...
ReplyDeleteDear friend the exact time and date is always focused on Jerusalem location (like the Rev12-sign on 9/23) because this is in Gods eyes the "midst of the earth" (Ezechiel 38:12). That's why Luke 17:34-36 describes a global day-night situation for the rapture. Blessings! :)
DeleteGREAT INPUT TY!! Please watch & share as well Robert Breakers timely and sound teaching on the "Tribulation gospel" (Rev14:6-11) which once again strongly supports pre-trib doctrine. It was just uploaded a few days ago!
ReplyDeleteAs well, he was one of the first dealing with the "other" sign at the end of tribulation in 2024 described in Revelation 15:1!
His teachings on gospel dispensations are sound, with certain qualifications regarding chapter Matth24 which he firmly rejects to having adressed the church too and claims it not to refer to rapture (whereas it is clearly described in v.40-41 = parallel in Luke 17:34-36). But everybody got his limits... ;)
Daniel Matson my praisey brother ... I share your excitement and wonder of this Great sign from God. You have put in the hard work to know God and He is blessing your faithfulness toward Him, along with many other brothers and sisters who long to see their First love. The cross was not understood by those who gathered to hear Jesus, even the disciples saw their Messiah coming to rule and reign over the earth ... which He will do during the Millennium ... but they didn't understand the cross, even though Jesus clearly told them He must die and be resurrected. Jesus states that "no one has perceived" that the cross must precede His coming to rule, even though God clearly demonstrated a blood sacrifice was necessary for the reconciliation of sin, right from the very start, with Adam and Eve.
ReplyDeleteAll the pieces of God's prophetic puzzle are coming together and fitting together as God is revealing the knowledge of His prophecy today to those who love to work the puzzles of God and proclaim the glory of God that is revealed when you put together the pieces. Just as Abraham walked with assurance and joy up Mt Moriah, relying on God's promise to make him a great Nation we can walk with assurance and joy toward God on September 21-23, 2017 relying on His promise that He is coming to receive His Bride, the Church and take Her home.
The wise men watched for the King to be born and went to Jesus' home when they saw the sign in the sky with their gifts of praise. Now it is the Church wise men who are watching for the Groom to call His Bride home and we have seen the Great sign and so we are running toward Jesus' Home in our Spiritual pursuit with our gifts of praise to be the first to see Him and kiss His face. No, I'm not crazy ... I'm praisey! Come Lord Jesus Come Marantha Come!
In the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. 2 Tim 4:8

To be fair, Mary and Anna understood the purpose of Christ, and made statements to this fact. The Magi also understood He was to die, which they showed with the gift of myrrh, a resin used in burial.
DeleteInteresting that Babylonian astrologers (and the forefathers of the modern Kurds) understood what was about to happen better than the learned religious leaders of the Jews.
Just watched. Robert's video. Such a solid and clear presentation. Confirmations keep coming. Looking forward to reading what Dan M. has to say. Maranatha!
ReplyDeleteAnother thought to this common twisting of Matth24: 36... How people try to read from these words that "no one COULD EVER know the day and the hour" reminds me of the old pattern of Genesis 3:1 "yeah, hath God (really) said...?" as Satan always twists scripture by confusing single words or adding some meaning that just sounds similar but simply isn't written there. Such a foul trick, but it still works!

Shabbat Shuv
Shabbat Shuva / שבת שובה
Shabbat Shuvah ("Sabbath [of] Return" שבת שובה) refers to the Shabbat that occurs during the Ten Days of Repentance between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Only one Shabbat can occur between these dates. This Shabbat is named after the first word of the Haftarah (Hosea 14:2-10) and literally means "Return!" It is perhaps a play on, but not to be confused with, the word Teshuvah (the word for repentance).
Shabbat Shuva begins at sundown on Fri, 22 September 2017.
by the way from the first blood moon in April 15, 2014 to September 23, 2017 there is 1257.

ReplyDeleteInteresting. In researching the 1947 UN Charter to recognize Israel, there was a Ad Hoc Committee that met on Sept 23rd, 1947 to consider the UNSCOP report. The Arab Higher Committee and the Jewish agency were invited and attended. The Arab Higher committee rejected (no surprise) the recommendation.
ReplyDeleteGo to Wikipedia, and search 1947 UN Resolution for Israel. Look for "Ad Hoc Committee"
What jumped out to me was the Sept 23rd, 1947 date.
Interesting.

ReplyDeleteConcerning Matthew 24:36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only." Three things:
(1) Our Lord's words were an answer to a question. What question? Go back to the beginning of the chapter to see what the question was: Matthew 24:3 " As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, 'Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?'” The disciples, as Jews who knew the promises of the Prophets, were looking for their Messiah who would bring in the promised Kingdom. In Mt. 24:3, they were asking Him when he would bring in the Kingdom. His answer was Mt. 24:36.
This is the same question they asked right before He ascended into heaven. Why? Because that was their hope. [Note: The hope of the Jews was/is the Kingdom which is totally different from the Christians' "blessed hope," the Rapture.] Acts 1:6 "So when they had come together, they asked him, 'Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?'” As I said, this is virtually the same question they asked in Mt. 24:3 because that was what they were waiting for, the Kingdom (not the Rapture. See point 3.)
Again he does not answer with a specific date. Acts 1:7: "He said to them, 'It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority." At that time, the date of the beginning of the Kingdom was unknown except to the Father, and not for them to know.
(2) Much has been written on the verb tense found in Mt. 24:36 and I will leave you to research those articles. (I have dabbled in Greek just enough to make myself dangerous, so I will not go into it.) But, basically, the tense implies that at the point where the Lord Jesus Christ spoke these words , the date was unknown, but it does leave the door open for that date to be known in the future.
So, let's jump ahead: Once the Tribulation begins, those who are alive and experiencing it, if they have any knowledge of the scriptures, will be able to discern the date of the end of the Tribulation and the return of the King to set up His kingdom because the Book of Revelation is loaded with time markers, day counts, and year counts.
The Book of Revelation begins thus: Revelation 1:1,2: "The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw."
At the time the questions were asked, (Mt. 24:3, Acts 1:6) the date would have not been known and this is reflected in the verb tense used. But, the Lord later revealed it all to John (and "his servants") in The Revelation. Those who are listening will, at that time, be able to discern the date of the return of the King and the coming Kingdom.

ReplyDeleteConcerning Matthew 24:36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only." Three things:
(3) Lastly, it should be very clear that the Lord was NOT speaking of the date of the Rapture. Why?
In I Corinthians 15:51, Paul says, "Behold! I show you a mystery," and then proceeds to speak about the Rapture. Everyone who studies the scriptures should know that when something is referred to as a "mystery," it means that whatever is then spoken of has not been know/revealed up to that point. Therefore, the Rapture was an unknown doctrine up until the point it was revealed to and through Paul, which was many years after the Lord spoke Mt. 24:36. Again, the Rapture was a mystery, an unknown doctrine prior to Paul's revelation of it. Therefore we can say with absolute positive certainty that the Lord Jesus Christ was NOT referring to the Rapture in Mt. 24:36. So, you may wish to debate what the Lord was referring to in Mt. 24:36, but one thing you can say for sure: The Lord was NOT referring to the day of the Rapture. Period.
So, in conclusion, I think it is clear that, in Mt. 24:36, the Lord was referring to the timing of His Kingdom, not the Rapture. Furthermore, we, the "children of light, children of the day" (I Thessalonians 5:5), the ones who are watching for our blessed hope can discern the times and the signs that are clearly being given to us. And we can rejoice!
