David Wilkerson Believed The Child Was The Church!
David Wilkerson was a very famous preacher out of New York City who died in 2011. He took the end times very seriously and has many extremely powerful sermons and prophetic statements that can be accessed online. Our brother Randy recently posted a video of Pastor Wilkerson which has a very interesting portion in it related to the Revelation 12 Sign. About 5 minutes into the video below he starts discussing Revelation 12, and at about 5:28 he clearly says that the child in Revelation 12:5 IS THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST!
So we can now add David Wilkerson to the list of prominent pastors who had this interpretation. Among others that list that includes John Nelson Darby, Harry Ironside, William Kelly, William Blackstone, and even Chuck Missler to some extent.
This sermon is dedicated to the ill's of television (another timely subject to be sure) but at about 5 minutes in you can hear Pastor Wilkerson share his thoughts on Revelation 12. Thanks again Randy for sharing this!

David Wilkerson is the most powerful preacher I've ever heard. The Holy Spirit just pours out of his sermons. I miss him very much.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you 100%!
DeleteBrilliant! Great catch, Randy. Thanks for sharing, Brad!
ReplyDeleteLove Him! I can't wait to meet him in Heaven!
ReplyDeleteShared on FB ;)
ReplyDeleteMany times I turn on a David Wilkerson playlist in order to keep my lampstand overflowing. Where is the anquish over sin in the church? We need this kind of preaching instead of watered down messages on self promotion.
ReplyDeleteTrue. Salvation is a gift , Rightousness is a gift also. Grace is the empowerment to live a life of victory over sin just to add to what you said.
DeleteAgree, I watched a sermon from Him about beware of Dogs. It was pure faith alone, do not turn back to your works, Jesus alone...we are sinners saved by grace, etc...then I watched another of his sermons and was floored to listen to him bring condemnation and shame onto people for their sins!!! I knew immediately , a lordship slavationist, mixing works and grace to get and stay righteous. Paul taught against the law and works. He said the law does not make you righteous. We are like filthy rags, our works will be burned up! We live in a fallen body. If we could be righteous in our own flesh, we wouldn't need Jesus atoning blood. I have visions and dreams from God , and Jesus always shows me I'm worthy, He loves me, don't listen to the Pharisee, and has called me from the church building...He even told me audibly that I was going to be raptured. He's shown me so many things that have already come to pass for end times events. Just recently He showed the the island of m adagascar would sink into the ocean. So, we can't be mixing law with grace. Jesus fulfilled every letter of the law in His death, burial and resurrection , all those that believe have everlasting life!
DeleteBe careful of Wilkerson, he was solidly a Lordship Salvationist, and he mixed grace and works. A man's ability to work an audience has no effect on how Biblically sound he is (see 2 Corinthians 10:10). Wilkerson was a fiery orator, but held to some very unbiblical beliefs.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this. I also am leery of him, as from my understanding, many of his prophecies have not come to pass.
DeleteI'm David Wilkerson's oldest daughter, Debi. Quick question for you. I have his book , the Vision right here in front of me. These prophecies were from the word of God. Which ones have not come to pass?
DeleteI sure don't know either, but it's good to meet a 'first daughter." I gave a little money to Samaritan's Purse and got a thank-you call from Bunny Graham, who was working with her brother, I guess, at the time. When I began to realize who I was talking to - that she was Franklin Graham's sister, and therefore Billy Graham's daughter - I was taken aback and, thinking that she may have been saying she was a 'sister in Christ' I stumbled out, "you mean a blood sister?" She was quite amused and confirmed my understanding and later sent a thank-you note signed, "Bunny Graham, a blood sister." I don't do well with the famous or the first daughters. Blessings to you.
DeleteHe taught that you are saved by the holy ghost and then you do works. He never taught that works save you. Get it right, and dont try to change his message to fit your agenda.
DeleteWillow, one of the hallmarks of Lordship Salvation is that works are a necessary result of salvation - meaning that if you don't do good works, you are not really saved. This is still mixing works and grace, as it effectively makes salvation a bi-lateral contract, i.e. a loan. It runs flat into scriptures such as Romans 4:2-8, 11:6, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, and even John 3:14-18.
DeleteI could quote Wilkerson ad nauseam on how he taught that grace required works, but I'm not the only one that has noticed this and quoted him:

Hi Debi, I'm sure it's hard to see strangers on the Internet talk about your dad, especially if like me they are leery of trusting his prophecies, or believe he teaches faith + works & therefore not the right gospel, and I'm truly sorry if it causes pain.
DeleteHere is one unfulfilled prophecy. I remember reading this one when we got his newsletter in the mail when I was a kid and it filled me with deep dread. While I don't have the newsletter anymore here is a portion I found online. "I have had recurring visions of over 1,000 fires burning at one time here in New York city. I am convinced race riots will soon explode! New York City is right now a powder keg-ready to blow!...federal and State Welfare cutbacks will be the spark that ignites the fuse. ***Next year,*** New York City could have over 100,000 angry men on the streets, enraged because they have been cut off from benefits....Federal troops will have to move in to restore order. New York City will have tanks running down its avenues....Churches will be closed for a season because it will be too dangerous to travel about. Fires will rage everywhere. (Prophecy from Sept. 7, 1992)
From another source:
"I am writing this letter to you on Saturday, April 15, 2000. I have on my desk the headlines in yesterday's paper: "BLACK FRIDAY - BIGGEST ONE-DAY DROP IN HISTORY." The Dow fell 618 points - the Nasdaq fell 355. I do not know what is coming in the next sixty days. If the market bounces back, I can assure you it will be temporary. THE CRASH IS INEVITABLE - NOTHING CAN STOP IT." (David Wilkerson's prophecy from his cover letter dated: May 1, 2000.)
"David Wilkerson admits false prophecy of 5-01-00, due to market reaching record high by May 22, 2000 (7 days later). From a cover letter dated May 22, 2000 when asked about his warning that the stock market was going to crash, when it didn't, Wilkerson states:
' "In prayer, I have told the Lord I am ready at any time to confess I am wrong - that I must have spoken from my own fears or that I have spoken unadvisedly. Recently, when the market reached record highs, I wondered if those calling me a false prophet were right." ' "
"Right now I sense in my spirit that in less than 5 years there will be no more so-called gospel television networks. They will all fall into bankruptcy and absolute ruin." (Solomon Church Dec. 12, 1994)
I don't believe he is a bad person, Debi. I know he did a lot of good. We need to be discerning about those who prophesy or share with millions of people what they believe the Lord has revealed to them and one way we can do this is by evaluating if what they say has come to pass. If not, there is in my humble opinion, good reason to be leery.
Peace to you.
I pray you find the true spirit of Christ. David Wilkerson by far is the best. He was a sound man of God. And preached the gospel that Christ taught. He had led several to Christ, helped people understand the bible ams preached what God told him. He had no problem speaking truth. I know this day and age you must avoid false doctrine as it is abounding. But, pray for discernment. Listen to his prophacies.. There's no doubt that he loved God and taught is word according to what God asked of him. That's why his sermons are filled with the spirit of God. It's beautiful.
DeleteJust saw this little news piece: http://fox43.com/2017/08/22/spiritual-sonogram-offers-local-couple-relief-what-do-you-see/ Of course, I don't know if there's anything to it, but isn't the timing and the association with a child in utero being waited on by Christ!
ReplyDeleteThank you to my friend, Nicole who shared this with me on FB and thank you brothers at Revelation12 Daily. This is very encouraging and more confirmation!
ReplyDeleteThe word "Rapture" is not exactly a Biblical term but may be indicated in the phrase “caught up” as found in Rev 12:5 "her child was caught up to God and to His throne" in Rev 12:5 and in 1 Thess 4:17 “then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever.”
ReplyDeleteThe Body of Christ is basically composed of three categories of Christians: the Holy of Holies Christians, the Holy Place Christians and the Outer Court Christians.
The Manchild caught up to the throne of God in Rev 12:5 will be the Holy of Holies Christians only. This Manchild will operate like Jesus, serving on Earth but living in Heaven (John 3:13) and in whom the prince of this world has nothing in them (John 14:30). They are the Fullness of Christ Christians (Eph 4:13), the Firstfruits (Rev 14:4), the Overcomers (Rev 2-3), the Manifested Sons of God (Rom 8:19), the Bride of the Lamb (Rev 21:9), the Saviours on Mount Zion (Obd 1:21), the Angels who will remove offenses from the kingdom (Matt 13:41), the 144,000 who follow the Lamb wherever He goes (Rev 14:1-4), the Brethren of the Lord (Rom 8:29) who will do the Greater Works of Christ (John 14:12) and judge the Mount of Esau (Obd 1:21) with the Rod of Iron (Rev 2:27, 12:5, 19:15).
The Holy Place Christians will go through Tribulation to purify them (Dan 12:7-12, Dan 8:24), to make their robes white in the blood of the Lamb (Rev 7:14), for their blood to be shed (Rev 6:10-11), and to overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of their testimony for they loved not their lives unto death (Rev 12:11). Those Holy Place Christians who do not take the mark of the Beast during the Tribulation (Rev 19:20) and who endured to the end (Matt 24:13) will go to meet Christ in the air (1 Thess 4:17).
The Outer Court Christians will be earmarked for destruction (Rev 11:1). Two thirds of Christians will die and one third will go through the fires of Tribulation (Zech 13:8-9).
In summary, PreTribulation Catching Away will be for the Holy of Holies Christians to execute judgments on the earth and the PostTribulation Catching Away will be for the Holy Place Christians to wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb, to overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb, to reject the mark of the Beast and to endure to the end.
Degrees of salvation? You're either in Christ or you are not. This is a gross misrepresentation of the Word.
DeleteFully agreed, Crystal! There's exactly ONE first resurrection and ONE second death. And there's no kind of "second chance purified believers" whatsoever either. Tribulation gospel will also be different from todays' = Revelation 14:6-11. These guys will be in the first resurrection too but from another salvation message.
Delete“And he said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise."”
ReplyDeleteLuke 23:43
Obedience to God’s commands is the true sign of your love for God, and the only way you can know if you are obeying God is by knowing his Word.
ReplyDeleteExodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
Deuteronomy 11:1 Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, always.
Romans 5:1 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
2 John 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
Romans 2:6-8 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 But unto them that are contentious*, and do not obey* the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
Luke 11:28 But he said,Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
Romans 5:9 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so* by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Romans 4:2 For IF Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, BUT NOT BEFORE GOD. 3 For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” 4 Now TO HIM WHO WORKS, the wages are NOT COUNTED AS GRACE but as debt. 5 But TO HIM WHO DOES NOT WORK BUT BELIEVES ON HIM who justifies the ungodly, HIS FAITH IS ACCOUNTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS, 6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness APART from works.
DeleteRomans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the END of the law for righteousness to EVERYONE who BELIEVES
Titus 3:4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 NOT BY WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH WE HAVE DONE, but ACCORDING TO HIS MERCY HE SAVED US, THROUGH the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that HAVING BEEN JUSTIFIED BY HIS GRACE we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Ephesians 2:8-9: For by GRACE you HAVE been saved through faith, and that NOT OF YOURSELVES; it is the GIFT of God, 9 NOT OF WORKS, lest anyone should boast.
Philippians 3:9 and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith
Galatians 3:10: For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” 11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith.” 12 YET THE LAW IS NOT OF FAITH, but "the man who does them shall live by them.” 13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit THROUGH FAITH.
Perhaps Ray Shaunnesy's dog ate the page in his Bible that had 1John 5:5 on it? Because last I checked the one who overcomes the world (and apparently according to Ray's vomitous assertion of tiered salvation this is a select few believers) happens to be the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. Additionally, ALL Christians are IN CHRIST Ray. Period. Just because one is a shoulder vs. a kidney, etc., doesn't mean they are greater or less in the Kingdom. That is what he rewards or lack thereof at the Bema Seat judgment is for. All who are in Christ position ally are then subsequently privy to all things that Christ is. As far as God is concerned we are already seated in the heavenly realms ruling and reigning according to Ephesians. Please people pay no heed to peddlers of poop that tries to pass as truth. Because it abounds in these last of the last days and we must be on guard.
DeleteAlso on Dave Wilkerson, read the unsealed article Unsealed exposing david Wilkerson as a false prophet http://www.unsealed.org/2017/03/who-will-be-raptured.html?m=1 sums up nicely. I used to revere DW and still have a collection of every newsletter he sent out from like 1994-2007. Bottom line, he definitely was a false prophet. You miss ONE prophecy then you are instantly disqualified according the the OT. Period. Don't defend it just because you liked the guy. He also tended to be more sin-conscious than most. But I believe that may have been because his ministry focused on the worst of the worst in NYC. Was he saved? No idea. Did he preach works in any way? One might make a case of working to prove/stay saved. All in all only the person, God and the devil KNOW the salvific status of a man.
David Wilkerson was a greatest gifted teacher and pastor, but probably prophet was not his gift at all. I still have a flow of Holy Spirit every time I listen his teachings. He lived every word he was saying. I wish he still be with us, but he was full filled his mission and now in Heaven with Lord Jesus getting ready to come back here and continue to serve Him in whatever mission will be on him, only it will be much greater one for sure.
ReplyDeleteChrist said to the sinner on the cross beside him "Assuredly, I say to you, today, you will live with me in Paradise." No works required here.
ReplyDeleteI understand "Sanctification" to be the works we do "just because" we love what he did for us, yet , we are to follow His command to Love Him above all else, love your neighbor as yourself, and tell the world one person at a time, just what Jesus did for us, as a believer.
Love encompasses so much works, yet it is not works, it is love for fellow mankind.
David Wilkerson was a genuine man of God whose sermons always brings conviction in my heart and a yearning for God by the spirit of God. Its not like the sermons we have today that mostly pleases the flesh.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like his messages. You are either a sinner, a hypocrite or you are still struggling with sin. Check your self and be sincere.
