New Page - Debunking the Debunkers

I have added a new page to this site.  You can access the link on the home page, resources page, or directly via this link here.  This new page is basically a running list of links to debunking attempts and links to the responses to those attempts.  As most of you know the attempts to debunk the Revelation 12 Sign to date have been extremely superficial and very easy to disprove.  Words like astrology are tossed around often... as well as comparing this sign to other signs in the past which didn't have nearly the scriptural depth nor consensus of opinion from varied researchers.  Those who say the sign isn't unique are most obviously mistaken as uniqueness is one of this signs greatest strengths.  Check out the new page and let me know what links I am missing.  As always please let me know if you have any suggestions as my goal is to make this site as responsive and user friendly as possible.  Thank you!

  1. If I do not carefully guard my heart, I have a strong tendency to slip into a "works" mentality on just about anything. Aware of that tendency, I struggle with the notion that it appears as if God is hiding some of these end-time prophetic truths and revealing them only to people who are earnestly expending time and energy to pursue truth with their whole heart. In one sense, it feels to me like a treasure hunt of sorts. At the same time, I recognize how my flesh can turn this into something that sounds a bit like this in my mind: "The in-the-know camp must be the group of people who are really seeking after truth with their whole heart, and these other folks must not be. Sure am glad I am in the right group."

For me, it is not too far down the road to, "I thank you, Lord, that I am not like these other blind men who cannot see your truth..." You get my drift. The kind of thoughts and prayers that become a stench in the nostrils of our God.

So, as we continue to seek truth about the Rev 12 sign and all other signs of the time for that matter, I would ask that those who can relate to my sentiments would join me in a sincere, heartfelt prayer:

    Father,

You are God and we are not. We are broken beings who, despite being sealed by Your Holy Spirit for that day, still deal with our sinful flesh on a daily basis. Empower us to walk in genuine humility, not contrived. Help us to cast down prideful thoughts of any type that might attempt to set up camp in our minds. Protect us from deception. Grant us wisdom and discernment to both recognize and embrace truth. Help us to understand what You would have us to understand. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth including the blogosphere, as it is in heaven. May Jesus Christ be glorified and His truth alone be exalted. In the mighty name of Yeshua HaMashiach we ask it.

    1. Thank you for that heartfelt comment and prayer. My view echo's yours, but I would add this: Just like the Gospel, the information is clearly there for anyone with a humble heart to look at and find. But also like the Gospel, the vast majority of people just don't do it. Similarly, I feel like many of those people who dismissed this sign will regret that decision in the future. I don't believe this is a salvation issue... Jesus paid for all our shortcomings on the cross if we truly believe in Him... but it is still definitely wrong to dismiss this sign in such a haughty or dismissive way which is common so common by many of these 'prophecy experts'.

Like a little child I look up and see a sign that matches Rev12, clear as day. Like a good Berean, I search the scriptures for myself (Acts 17:11) and have found that the connections are deeper than I ever could have imagined. My prayer is that all those debunking the sign would do the same and the truth would be allowed to shine among the whole church.

    2. Amen to that. What's interesting to me is that many of the debunkers fall into a similar mindset, developing an attitude of "I thank you, Lord, that I am not like these other blind men who are so deceived they imagine they see 'signs' of this 'Rapture' thing under every rock and behind every bush, and end up making fools of themselves like all the deceived date-setters before them. I thank you, Lord, that you have given me the maturity and the wisdom to avoid such nonsense."

Brad's right--the information is out there in living color for anyone with ears to hear, and the debunkers are covering theirs. Nobody is questioning their salvation--I'm sure most are. But if Satan fails in blinding their minds to the truth of the gospel, he'll settle for the next best thing: blinding their minds to the truth of prophetic fulfillment in order to prevent the fire of their witness from getting set on "HIGH."

    3. You are right Greg. The pride thing has the capability of cutting both ways. May the Lord, in His graciousness, grant us eyes to see truth while helping us to avoid the pitfalls of pride. In the end, I desire to be a humble truthseeker found in His presence. Sure seems like September is pregnant with potential for that to occur. Maranatha. Lord Jesus. Watchman35

    4. I agree! I have found a few types of people:
      1) lets go now
      2) interesting
      3) sept 23 prolly isn't it, it could be 200 years from now
      3) what a snore
      4) we'll that is just your view
      5) are you going to drink the cool aid?

This verse bothers me about the person that doesn't care......
      Matthew 24:48 (KJV) But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

This verse encourages me when people are interested!!!:
Matthew 24:46 (KJV) Blessed [is] that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

    5. Dear @ArtiPrinted Matthew, these verses from Matth24 are exactly those for endtimes teachers and pastors i.e. "servants" (look whom they refer to and who is the one 'feeding the flock' John 21:15 - 17?) who either make believers learn about or dismiss the wonderful announcement of Christs return. This is why the warning also goes to them from James 3:1 ! Read a little further and look where each group will end up (esp. Matthew 24:51 in contrast to verse 47). Stay blessed by the Holy Spirit who opens the word to you! MARANATHA!

    6. @ArtiPrinted Matthew: in addition to the above please note the words "in due season" in Matthew 24:45 concerning the fact that each kind of teaching and topic (no matter what) has to correspond to the dispensation and period of time / historical era it is needed. Rev12-sign teaching now is due to endtimes season especially; any pastor who doesn't get his focus today on that will not serve God properly. Unfortunately, many are still focusing on sideshow topics that maybe somewhat interesting or even inspiring but that are not "in due season".

  2. What we easily overlook about the Bereans is their 1st honorable trait, which precedes their diligence in searching the Word, is their having the humility of the student. FOUNDATIONAL to their diligence in searching the Word to test the validity of the teaching they were receiving was an attitude of interest, curiosity, wonder and the humility of knowing that, until our Father completes HIS work in us, there is ALWAYS more to learn and understand.

Obviously, that the Word was the bedrock benchmark they used to test all things is also applicable in our rebuke of the Rev 12 scoffers who fail to make the Word central to their critiques, however, even this foolishness arises from a root perspective of self-righteousness akin to that which our Lord despised in the religious leaders of His day.

The attitude of a good student arises from a spirit rich with an understanding of one's own ignorance and liberally seasoned with a child-like curiosity and wonder at the new thing which our Lord chooses to reveal next. Failure to display that attitude indicts one of being pretentious and operating from a viewpoint immaturely convinced that everything knowable on a topic is already known by them. While I can handle someone who blows off the Rev-12 sign as being a curiosity, I will NOT tolerate, and have broken fellowship with those who take an attitude of condescending superiority and smug dismissiveness arising from their own genius in the matter of the things of our Lord.

Revelation 3:17 that's how they talk with regards to their own 'genius in the matter of the LORD' - now look how the LORD answers to them using 5 crystal clear attributes that altogether are already understood as 'hate speech' (instead of hard speech) in todays' tolerance utterance: WRETCHED, MISERABLE, POOR, BLIND, NAKED. ## OUCH!! ;-) ## John 6:66

  3. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
    Romans 12:1‭-‬21 NKJV

Since you cannot control what other people do or think, why waste time attacking people who are wasting their time debunking things when they should be promoting Jesus Christ and a relationship with Him as all that matters? Don't you think God can defend Himself? This website can be a great resource to encourage our faith but this obsession with debunking confounds me. Has anyone ever debated someone into believing in Jesus? The Holy Spirit will open the ears to hear and eyes to see not this site or the teachers out there. This aspect of this site frustrates me because it could be a great resource, but the arguments you use against them could be used against you as well.

And he said to me, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.”
    Revelation 22:10‭-‬11 NKJV

God is in control. Glorify Him with praise, worship, study of His word and love for Him not unprofitable debates.

  4. Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”; and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come—all are yours. And you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.
    I Corinthians 3:16‭-‬23 NKJV

  5. For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
    Galatians 5:13‭-‬15 NKJV

  6. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?
    James 4:10‭-‬12 NKJV

My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh. Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
    James 3:1‭-‬18 NKJV

  7. Beautiful prayer at the top Watchman 35! I could not agree more. Forgive me brothers and sisters, I am not trying to be disrespectful. I do not wish to see anyone, myself included, caught in a share of the devil and fall into sin. I pray that we would all be overcomers not letting any hurdle hinder us from our pursuit of Jesus!

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    Romans 8:31‭-‬39 NKJV

  8. Frank.... I will let others respond to your angst as you know how I feel from our conversations. All I would add at this point is this... Much of the same negativity is said about the ministry of Apologetics. But 1 Peter 3:15 says we should all be able to give a reason for the hope we have. We should defend what we believe to be true...even if we don't know 100% how everything will play out with certainty. Defend with gentleness and respect (easier said than done), but surely defend. For example, I don't know the exact specifics of how God created the earth, but I will defend Creationism with any person who believes in macro evolution. The arguments for evolution don't hold water, just like the vast majority of the arguments against the Rev 12 Sign. Therefore, I do what I do for all things I believe, I defend what I believe to be Gods truth....hopefully with gentleness and respect (still working on that though). Love you brother... thanks for posting. Your thoughts are always welcome!

    1. Thanks Brad. My issue is not with the Revelation 12 Sign information by any means. I find all of the research very interesting and I also understand the precautions of people who dont agree with the information. I still love my fellow brothers and sisters even though we dont agree 100%. My issue is with people arguing with each other that results in name calling and disparaging comments that do not promote Jesus or glorify Him. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but there is no profit in beating each other up just because we dont agree on things or the interpretation of them. We should be able to defend what we believe in but according to scripture we are to love each other not chastise and ridicule them because we dont agree. I would not want to fall into to sin because I have no self control and feel the need to publicly vent about someone. I hesitated much about writing anything, but I do not want to see articles like the debunking ones become a stumbling block for people. You wind up wasting your time researching people's opinions then instead of researching scripture like a Berean and cultivating your relationship with the Lord. My sole purpose in commenting on this site is to support you and this ministry and to promote faith in Jesus Christ and I can not say that these type of articles do either one any good.

    2. Thanks Frank. As far as promoting faith in Jesus Christ, I would say that a debunking article done in the parameters of 1 Peter 3:15 could do just that. 3. Ephesians 4:25-32 NKJV
25 Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. 26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the devil. 28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. 29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

I had read Greg's article when you had posted it. I do not have a platform to share my testimony but forgiveness and humility is something the Lord has taught me well. Jesus led me through the process to give face to face forgiveness to a man i wouldn't even call step-dad because of the mental abuse as a child and then after 20 years of no talking and lots of disfunction, the Holy Spirit leads me to show up unannounced and forgive him out of obedience. The awesome part was that he cried on my shoulder and confessed every wrong he ever did to me and Jesus took all of the pain away and redeemed the time so we are now a family. I am severly condensing the greatest miracle I couldve ever expected in my life, but Jesus has shown me personally what forgiveness is and what it is to love someone even if you dont feel like it. You just do it because you love Jesus more than you love wnything else and whether or not you have to humble yourself to do it, you just do it because He paid for it on the cross. Then he brings joy and peace like you couldn't imagine. So my point is to love our brothers and sisters, and especially Jesus who actually died to grant such forgiveness, more than we love our fleshly and lustful desire to prove them wrong which is a reoccurring theme throughout the New Testament. Love your neighbor as yourself, we are all God's children and Jesus paid for us all.

    4. Dear Frank, I cannot see any "beating EACH OTHER up" here on this website because the debunkers pretty much do expose themselves as not glorifying God. I do rather agree with Brad as it is important to contend / strive for the faith of the gospel (and the return of Christ being part of!) compare Philippians 1:27 or Jude 1:3 . Therefore we do not judge but discern these mockeries about Gods great Rev12-announcement of His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, our saviour and judge of this unbelieving world just according to scripture and not to our own speculations or volatile opinions. Blessings be to you!

  9. Frank Dollbaum...I think I understand where you're coming from, and agree with you to a point. I agree it is critical that we first and foremost shine the light of God's love to the world and bear witness to the gospel of Christ by which we were set free from sin. That's what we're here for. And I agree that there have been times when some REV12 sign proponents have strayed over the line and have written things that come across as a bit harsh or unloving to those who dismiss and disparage the REV12 sign and those who embrace it.

Go ahead. Ask me how I know this.

    You said:

"Since you cannot control what other people do or think, why waste time attacking people who are wasting their time debunking things when they should be promoting Jesus Christ and a relationship with Him as all that matters?"

You're right, we can't control what people think. But since when is correcting the lies, half-truths, and misinformation of people who attack the prophetic fulfillment of God's Word "wasting time"?

Of course a relationship with Jesus Christ is all that matters. Do you suppose we have forgotten that? Do you suppose that the only reason Brad does what he does or any of us do what we do is to glorify ourselves, or build up our little cyber-fiefdom? To gain the fleshly satisfaction of proving that we're right and others are wrong?

Of course, I trust you don't feel that way. I give you more credit than that.

    You wrote:

"Has anyone ever debated someone into believing in Jesus?"

Well, what do you think Paul was doing when King Agrippa interrupted him?

"Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian." (Acts 26:28)

    You wrote:

"The Holy Spirit will open the ears to hear and eyes to see not this site or the teachers out there."

By this logic, every person who is out there preaching the gospel is wasting his or her time:

"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" (Romans 10:14-15)

I know this is strictly about the gospel message per se, but the principle is the same. God uses human agency to propagate His truth--and that includes guys like Brad.

    You wrote:

"...but the arguments you use against them could be used against you as well."

Well, since Brad is speaking the truth in love to people who are spreading lies, half-truths and misinformation, I don't quite follow your logic.

You mentioned Revelation 22:10-11, but I don't believe it applies here. I believe this speaks to the eternal destiny of people, not what they respond to or don't respond to during their earthly lives.

    You wrote:

"God is in control. Glorify Him with praise, worship, study of His word and love for Him not unprofitable debates."

True, but I fail to see what is unprofitable about doing one's utmost to correct people's understanding of God's truth and refute the lies of people doing their utmost to lead people away from it.

    In Christ,

    1. Thanks for the feedback Greg. God bless you. I am praying for all of our brothers and sisters. I hope I didn't sound like I am giving a pass to the "debunkers". They are not right either if what they do causes division or strife. At the same time they are also God's servants and while they may not agree with the Revelation 12 sign, it does not mean they are not being used by God to do His work. We all make mistakes and interperet scripture wrong here and there, but we should pick each other up and pray for each other not point out their faults in my opinion. I pray for a unified Body of Christ with one heart, mind and soul operating with one accord sharing the Truth that Jesus is the Christ. And no one preaching is wasting their time. We are sharing the living testimony of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and how awesome He is. It is like the parable of the sower. Only 25% in that parable received the Word with gladness and were profitable and the rest fell away. I have shared my faith and testimony repeatedly with the people in my life waiting on the Lord to grow the seed He gave me to plant. I toss it out there and pray that He will make it grow and bare fruit for Him. Just like Brad is doing here through this site and others do through their respective websites and ministries. My prayer is that we focus our efforts on sharing the gospel not pointing out which teaching/teacher is right or wrong, thats all. Maybe I am out of place here on this site with my comments but I look at it this way: We all have one teacher, one Father, one Savior, one Spirit and just as the Lord our God is One, let us as the Body of Christ be one as well. Again, God bless you Greg and Brad and everyone as we eagerly and axiously await our Lord's return. Your humble brother in Christ, Frank.
      1 Corinthians 3:5-11
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

  10. Thank you Greg for that thoughtful reply and thank you Frank for the discussion. Love you guys. I was led to a verse this morning that pretty much sums things up for me....

    II Timothy 2:24-25:
And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness.....

As we can see here, there is a difference between being quarrelsome and correcting. I have always had the goal of correcting with the truth in love. I openly admit it is hard to be gentle, but that is the goal for me in these types of articles. I believe the truth should be defended and addressed.... even more so considering the massive implications that the Rev12 Sign has opened up combined with the urgency created with the lateness of the hour. But if the truth is not addressed in love, then the lack of love will become the issue and you will have set yet another hurdle for them to surmount on their path to truth. I never want to be accused of attacking another believer.... Christ died for them, who am I to attack them? But I believe a misleading or misinformed article or video or public opinion should be addressed (not attacked) but addressed. Not so I can build myself up or put someone else down, but so the truth of God's word can shine and that reason alone.

    1. Amen brother. As you said "addressed but not attacked".
      1 John 4:4-11, 21-22
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. 6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? 21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
