Isaiah 66 and Revelation 12 - Which Nation is Really Born?

Isaiah 66:8 has been taught to many of us for years as a prophecy which indicated that the Jews would return to their land in the future day.  It's been taught as a prophecy that was fulfilled when the UN voted in a single day to allow them to return to their land in 1948.  For this reason I feel many prophecy students hesitate to dive deep into Isaiah 66 in relation to the Rev12 Sign as it could muddy the prophetic waters.  For many of us the last thing any of us want to do is take anything away from the Miracle of Israel and claiming Isaiah 66:8 was not related to 1948 was potentially doing that.

But now in light of the in-depth studies of Revelation 12, greater scrutiny has been put onto this OT passage and its connection to Revelation 12:5.  Scrutiny that was intentionally directed at it by the author of Revelation himself, the Apostle John.  Through some clever writing he gives the reader a clue as to where in the Old Testament more information can be found.  In fact, he sends us to Isaiah, a book written 700 years before Revelation to help unlock this biblical mystery.  It took me longer than most, but I now see that there are many more connections linking this passage to the Rev12 Sign than there are to the rebirth of Israel. Additionally, as many have pointed out, if the woman in the Isaiah 66:8 passage is Israel, then how could she give birth to herself, if in fact the birth represents the nation of Israel being reborn in 1948 as so many teach?

Jeff from Unsealed.org has provided us all with a comprehensive overview of Isaiah 66 in relation to Revelation 12 which makes total sense.  In doing so I believe he has just made it possible for many more prophecy students (and hopefully prophecy teachers) to embrace the Revelation 12 Sign.  Any prophecy student will greatly benefit from this wonderful article, but any serious student who appreciates diving into the original languages will find this mind blowing!  Below is an excerpt and a link:
In short, we should ask this question: What's the author doing with what he is saying? In the apostle John's case, he purposefully links the grammatically incorrect term arsen (male) with huiov (son), "And she gave birth to a Son, a male-child..." These two words do not agree in gender (one is masculine, the other neuter), which is a huge blunder if this came from the pen of a prophet fresh out of grade school. Not so, as John is a seasoned, wily veteran at this point in his life. He knows Greek. And he knows his Old Testament.

The key to unlocking the mystery of the male-child, his identity and especially the timing of the birth and rapture, is the Greek term arsen in Rev. 12:5. Turn left. We're going to the book of Isaiah.

  1. The key is in the statement : 6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the Lord that rendereth recompence to his enemies.

    Three sounds or voices. now compare 1 Thessalonians 4:16

    For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

    7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

    This nation is brought forth out of the earth : 8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

    According to Zephaniah it is a nation that once it is brought forth it is hidden from the day of wrath:

    Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;
    2 Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord's anger come upon you. Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord's anger.

  2. I posted this in another forum months ago:

    The "male child" is clearly not just a single child... but "children" born from Jerusalem.
    Isaiah 66 goes on to show that the "glory of the Gentiles" that will be stretched out like a stream are the "children".

    My notes in braces {...}

    Isaiah 66:

    5 Hear the word of the Lord,
    You who tremble at His word:
    “Your brethren who hated you,
    Who cast you out for My name’s sake, said,
    ‘Let the Lord be glorified,
    That we may see your joy.’
    But they shall be ashamed.”

    6 The sound of noise from the city! {Probably sounds like a Trumpet of God ? }
    A voice from the temple! {interesting... it's from the temple... which temple...? We will soon find out... keep reading}
    The voice of the Lord, {This in my humble opinion is the Rapture, it reads similar to Rev 4 when John is called up to Heaven}
    Who fully repays His enemies! {Tribulation after rapture?}

    7 “Before she was in labor, she gave birth; {OK, here we start Rev 12 similarity, we have a "she" pronoun we need to figure out...}
    Before her pain came, {WOW , before she was in tribulation she gave birth!!! WHOA !!!! starting to sound like RAPTURE !!!}
    She delivered a male child. {OK, this sounds just like Rev 12... wonder who this "She" is...?}
    8 Who has heard such a thing?
    Who has seen such things?
    Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? {Ok...The ground is giving birth.. the dead in Christ? I thought it was just a male child...?}
    Or shall a nation be born at once? {This is starting to sound like a lot of people... a whole nation...}
    For as soon as Zion was in labor, {AHH HA! The woman is Zion (Israel)}
    She gave birth to her children. {WHOA !!! CHILDREN !!!! Lots and lots of children!!! This is a harvest!!!! This has to be the RAPTURE !!!}
    9 Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?” says the Lord.
    “Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?” says your God.
    10 “Rejoice with Jerusalem, {OK... Jerusalem}
    And be glad with her, all you who love her; {WOO HOO!!!, we just identified the pronoun "her" from above as Jerusalem}
    Rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn for her;
    11 That you may feed and be satisfied {Hmm... another pronoun... "you"... it must be the male child because it's feeding on Jerusalem}
    With the consolation of her bosom,
    That you may drink deeply and be delighted {huh huh huh... Shut Up Bevis !!}
    With the abundance of her glory.” {Interesting wording here about Jerusalem... Maybe this is talking about New Jerusalem...?}
    12 For thus says the Lord:

    “Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, {So this New Jerusalem is peaceful... SWEET ! IMHO, this is the temple mentioned above}
    And the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream. {AHH HA! a flowing stream of Gentiles that are glorious !!! IMHO These are the Raptured harvest of saints !!!}
    Then you shall feed; { Sooo.... the plot thickens... We now have identified the pronoun "you" as the "male child". The male child are "children" that make up "the glory of the Gentiles" extended like a flowing stream from New Jerusalem, birthed from Zion}
    On her sides shall you be carried, { ahh... that's nice... mmm}
    And be dandled on her knees. {weeeeeeeee}
    13 As one whom his mother comforts,
    So I will comfort you; {Thank you Lord }
    And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.” { Thank you "She" !!! }

    THANK YOU ISAIAH !
    THANK YOU JESUS !

    1. Dear James O my brother, thank you for your indepth thoughts! Please note as well the introducing verses of Isaiah 66 God names the reasons WHY He judges the world (and its corrupt belief system), sounds very much like the Laodicean church in Rev3 with all kinds of abomination done in the name of the LORD (verses 3-4). God calls for repentance (Blood Moons, Great American Eclipse?) but they will not hear nor turn to Him.

      Verse 5 reminds me of the "brethren" mockers and debunkers of Rev12-sign today (inside the church) who "claim to be Jews and are not" (Revelation 3,9!) but will be humiliated in tribulation period.

      For all friends of biblical numbers: Isaiah 66,6 announces judgement and separation (like e.g. John 6,66) the 6 being the number of MAN. Much blessings to you!

    2. Here's another article to chew on, regarding "Gods voice" (speaking through supernatural miracles and wonders in Exodus 4,8):

      http://www.charismamag.com/spirit/supernatural/33195-the-biblical-reason-god-speaks-through-supernatural-signs-and-wonders

      Both in Isaiah 6,66 and Exodus 4,8 is the same word for "voice" used = qol H6963

  3. Oh yea... And this too:

    I've Found something else very interesting in Galatians 4 that contains similarities to Isaiah 66:

    Galatians 4
    Two Covenants

    21 Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise, 24 which things are symbolic. For these are the[d] two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar— 25 for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children— 26 but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. 27 For it is written:

    “Rejoice, O barren,
    You who do not bear!
    Break forth and shout,
    You who are not in labor!
    For the desolate has many more children
    Than she who has a husband.”[e]
    28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise. 29 But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. 30 Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.”[f] 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free.

    I believe Isaiah 66 is talking about the children of the free !!! Especially verse 26 "but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all."

    Praise God!

    1. Oh yea, and verse 31 "So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free."

      The male child (or children) are glory of the gentiles. They are also the children of the "freewoman".

Colossians 3:2-4

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Philippians 3:20-21

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
