Light in the Darkness
There is a lot going on right now. Lots of videos showing clear signs that evil is about to take center stage once the restrainer is soon removed regarding the mark of the beast, etc. Astronomical signs continuing, most notable Venus (brighter than ever) meeting up the Pleiades in a very clear representation of Christ coming for His Church. Barry Scarborough had a video this morning about how there was the most earthquakes ever in a 24 hour period (or something like that)…. Just unbelievable stuff is happening. But the following video is what I would like to share.... This tender video gave me so much encouragement.... it's basically just news stories from around the country showing how GOD is getting praise and glory during this time, especially through our beloved healthcare workers. Stories of how hope is shining bright by turning toward HIM.

He was definitely tracking with what is going on in the world linking it to end-times prophecy, but he had not yet been expose to the revelation in the heavens yet.

How did we get to this point?

Peter knew exactly what the attitude of people in our day and age (“the last days”) would be. He knew Old Testament Scripture and understood that God warned the people who lived prior to the Flood that judgment was coming. They could have changed their minds about sin but ignored the warnings and refused to change. Judgment came and people were destroyed. God has given us rules for our own protection, and when we ignore Him, there must be a judgment in order to save all of humanity.

Lately, there’s been a loud call to prayer. Prayer is a very important part of a Christian’s life, but what do we pray for?
Is there any examination of our own shortcomings and need to change our ways, or do we want God to answer our prayer despite our sin?
The world is in the grips of a judgment.
An [invisible] virus is sweeping the world and shutting down everything from mom and pop stores to major industries. The entire world is affected, and sin is a major factor.
When Christians are asked to pray for our nation, how do we pray? “Dear Lord, please make this problem go away.” Do we ever repent of our sin and honor God first rather than expecting Him to jump to answer our request?

Jesus had a lot to say about evil within the heart of a person::
“And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within, and defile the man” Mark 7:20-23.

DeleteI was thinking the same thing when I watched the video. Who are they praying to? It brought to mind: Mat 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
I do understand that some of these groups are not looking to be in the limelight, they truly have a heart for Lord, and are calling on him for healing and power. Mat 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
I keep seeing this videos of people around the world on lock down out in the streets and on their balconies clapping for the health care workers. I can't help to think if all these people would put that same effort in to taking a knee and repenting, and calling on the great physician to heal our lands that so much more would be accomplished. I understand blindness, I once was blind, but now I see. It's just sad to see that one of the places where these people could be finding the truth have all shuttered their doors.
On a final note one of the things I have been watching is the "ultra-orthodox" Jews of Bnei Brak. They have been taking God at his Word to protect them from the virus. The news is reporting that it could be up to 38% of the population in Bnei Brak is infected. I can't find any number of how many from this area have died. There are articles about the fact that because of herd infection in this area, they may be the model, and the first to be able to go back to a "normal" life. With a population of 200,000 could this be where a large part of the 144,000 spoken of in Revelation 7 come from. Is it possible that the population of this area is made up of Jews from each of the 12 tribes? I don't have any scripture to back up this thought process, I just don't think the seal of God will be placed in the foreheads of secular Jews.

What is really mind blowing to me is in following along with the trending #EmptyHospitals as citizen journalists are revealing little to no activity occurring at these hospitals across the country. This presents a whole nuther kind of eeriness to me as it's been my experience that on any given normal day, every major hospital in any city that I've been to is not only short on parking during the day, but full of activity with just the normal everyday medical issues of life. Why are these hospitals not functioning in that way? Have people everywhere just stopped seeking medical care for anything except CV in certain "hotspots".

Hmmm, Ryan...even with the elective or delayed treatment rationale, where are all of the typical non CV emergencies...i.e heart attacks, strokes, OD's, shootings, crime victims, accidental injuries, etc....these lockdowns don't stop those things from occurring on a daily basis, yet ERs are empty and ambulances are parked. Even if they ARE waiting and preparing for CV cases to spike in all of these locations, this still does not make any sense unless CV is now the "only acceptable" life threatening emergency or cause of death. But anyway, I do agree that there is definitely some kind of "invisible" war going on here.

I forgave him for insinuating that Elijah may have been a pyromaniac. Elijah is a fav of mine. I don’t doubt Pastor JD’s genuine love for our Savior and sincerity in preaching the Gospel. In this particular case, people assumed what they heard and saw was something it wasn’t.

DeleteMiguel...TY for sharing that and it reminded me of this--I was passing this lady on a rather tight aisle the other day at the Dollar Gen store and we both kind of laughed about being well short of the 6 feet and I said "I'm not worried" and she said "Me, neither." Then I drew this imaginary cloak thing over myself and said "Covered in The Blood." Her eyes lit up and she said "Me, too!" Then we laughed and had a conversation about His Soon Return and when we parted ways, she backed up and said "Thank you so much for talking to me about this because nobody else will." That was such a blessing for both of us as our Lord assures us that His Spirit is moving among us:-)

As I was checking out, my cashier Robert commented on how it was really convenient that we could pay using a chip and not have to use cash. Then I retorted something like, "Yeah, but pretty soon they'll want this chip to go in our body." And he chimed in, "Oh, I'll pass on that." Then I added, "Oh, and I've read my Bible, and there's something about that in the last book." He smiled and said, "Yes there is." And we just had a moment, an understanding, and I went on my way.

A close friends son had a serious accident last Sunday. His back and collarbone was broken along with several fractured ribs. He had surgery Monday night for the back and surgery on the clavicle Tuesday morning and was released to go home Wed afternoon. While he was there, a nurse told him they currently had no CV patients but had been instructed that any death - no matter what the cause of death - was to be reported as a death due to coronavirus.

A very good source speculated that CA which has a far greater population than NY and approx 4,000 Chinese arriving everyday may be able to account for far fewer cases of CV than less populous NY due to herd immunity. That made me recall a bunch of us getting sick at work suddenly around Dec 6. Brothers and sisters in Christ here kindly prayed for me and I was better in 3 days. It came on unexpectedly and rather intensely and I remember the pain more than any respiratory issues. Still, it might have been deemed a mild case which it appears 70% of CV are, fortunately. BG wants everything, including vets, shut down for 10 weeks. Pretty big idea from a guy who didn’t invent anything.

The notion of Jesus, the goodman, showing up when the moon is full makes sense in view of the biblical calendar which has the harvest festivals associated with the First and Second Coming—
Passover and Tabernacles—occurring always on the full moon.
In contrast, the harvest festival associated with the Church—Feast of weeks, or Pentecost—does not
correspond to any particular phase of the moon. This is because the timing of Pentecost relies on the
counting of seven weeks from the weekly Sabbath following Passover (Lev. 23:15, 16).
Since the date of the Sabbath following Passover varies from year to year, so does the date of Pentecost.
What is interesting is that due to the way Passover and the subsequent Sabbath fall out in 2019,
Pentecost does happen to land on a full moon. Counting the seven weeks from the Sabbath following
Passover as prescribed in Leviticus, the festival celebrating the wheat harvest corresponds to the full
moon of June.
Thus, in 2019, all three of the Bible’s harvest festivals—Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles—coincide
with a full moon, the lunar-phase by which the goodman is scheduled to return in Proverbs 7.

With Israel in lockdown in their homes over Passover and much of the world, that symbolism in and of itself should have us looking up and looking in the Bible. Many are now coming to salvation as the nets are being pulled into the boat for what looks like a last harvest before the end of the Church. So much of the stage continues to be set in 2020. While the door is still open it is time to prepare to get in the Ark.
Other notes:
Rabbi Kaduri met the Messiah on November 4, 2003 and the day the largest solar flare was ever observed. 6000 days later is Passover 2020. 5000 days later was the Terror Attack on the Temple Mount on July 14, 2017. Passover 2020 is also 19,300 days from June 7, 1967 when Israel won Jerusalem. On a side note, Rabbi Kaduri died 3000 days before the start of the Lunar Tetrad of 2014-2015.
It caught my attention when I heard Rabbi Kaduri met the Messiah on Nov 4th 2003 and 6000 days later is Passover 2020. But to hear that Nov 4th 2003 was also the largest solar flare ever recorded is also very interesting. It reminded me of what Trump said a few days ago "..it's gonna be like a 'burst of light'" ...what was he referring to?...

What's also disturbing to me is that the new agers like David Willcock and those who follow him often reference Q and the cryptic statements about "The Storm" and a "Reset" that is coming or nigh upon us. Not sure about all the intricacies between these two realms both political and spiritual, but knowing what we know from Scripture, I am saddened that there will be extreme disappointment for many when all the children are indeed "taken out"...literally in the Rapture, and then the unbelieving world gets the devil and his angels thrown in. Woe to the earth... (Rev. 12:12).

From Wednesday evening 6pm until Thursday morning 7am no Israeli will be allowed to leave their homes.
This would also seem to echo what was said by the Trump administration in yesterday's coronavirus briefing - that people should avoid leaving their dwellings for the next two weeks.
I have a very exciting feeling in my spirit about this window of time - from the time of Passover to Resurrection Sunday and I have a feeling the world will see incredible events playing out over this period - many of which will also be horrendous.
Many would ask how is it possible that Satan could have known about this time and have used the world leaders to bring about this situation where people would be confined to their homes over Passover, while many children of God continue to claim that nobody knows the day or the hour, not even the Son of God? If this Passover week is marked by a notable heavenly sign, then it would be a perfect application of Genesis 1:14 where God said that He created the heavenly bodies to act as markers for His appointed times and we already saw how He marked Passover when Jesus hung on the cross! There were 3 hours of darkness that came over the world which had to be caused by something else than the moon.
Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons (appointed times), and for days, and years:
That same object may very well mark this Passover in some way and our enemy, having full access to God's timepiece in the heavens, would have known about the timing of this event for many centuries after seeing how God marked His perfect sacrifice to for the world on Passover. So if some unexpected heavenly sign occurs between tomorrow and Sunday, understand that Jesus knew on which Day and Hour He would return for us as soon as He received His glorified body, after His resurrection. Satan has full access to the heavens and understands the movement of the heavenly bodies - even those we cannot see - perfectly and knows when the next "event" will be marked. this would be one way in which it would be possible for him to tell the world about what is coming, because he simply had to look at God's timepiece in the heavens.
Keep looking up! Our Redemption is arriving and I expect it will also be marked by an unusual heavenly sign!!

PASSOVER, beginning the evening of April 8 this year, marks two of the most important anniversaries in biblical history: the Hebrew Exodus from Egypt about 3,500 years ago and the crucifixion of Jesus 2,000 years ago.
DeleteOwing to current events, Passover 2020 is shaping up to be a momentous one as well:
The Coronavirus pandemic has the world on lockdown. Similar to the first Passover in Egypt, observers are compelled to stay inside as an “angel of death” known as Covid-19 stalks the night. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has ordered a complete lockdown of Israel during Passover, requesting that every family observe Seder night on its own, only with immediate family members in the home.
Next door to Israel, in Africa and across the Middle East, the most destructive locust swarm in 70 years is threatening the food supply of millions. Significantly, a locust swarm was one of the final plagues unleashed upon Egypt before the final judgment, which would trigger the release of the Hebrew slaves, was meted out (Ex. 10).
What’s more, all of the above is happening as a host of other biblical signs converge: the beginnings of a global economic collapse, the unveiling of a peace plan that divides Jerusalem, a movement to reinstate animal sacrifice at the Temple Mount, increasing asteroid traffic, record-breaking storms, fires, floods, and seismic activity.
A recent earthquake in Utah shook the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake to the top of its iconic spire, causing the golden trumpet to fall from the angel Moroni’s right hand.
The breaking of a false idol reminds us of how in Scripture God mocks the man-made gods of “wood and stone” to expose them as fake (Isa. 44:9-20; Deut. 4:28). This was the case in the days of the Exodus as each of the ten plagues sent upon Egypt was directed at one of the Egyptian gods or goddesses (Ex. 12:12, 13). The plague of darkness, for instance, demonstrated how the God of Israel, not the Egyptian god Ra, had control over the sun.
Another example of God exposing an idol, though not directly related to the Exodus, is when the Philistines captured the Ark of the Covenant and brought it into the house of their god, Dagon. The next morning, the people rose to find Dagon fallen face down on the ground before the Ark of the Lord. The image was returned to its place but the next morning was, again, found face down before the Ark. This time the idol’s hands and feet had been broken off (1 Sam. 5:1-5).
In view of God’s propensity to cut down idols, it’s interesting to note, with Passover and the Exodus anniversary upon us, how a global plague is upending our contemporary “gods and idols”: sporting events, entertainment, leisure travel, social gatherings, relationships, careers and the pursuit of wealth. In one fell swoop, the pursuits and activities we habitually put before the Lord have been curtailed or eliminated.
Could the Coronavirus pandemic, similar to the plagues sent upon Egypt, be a divine wake-up call to an idol-entranced world that it’s time to change our ways before the ultimate judgment arrives?
Assuming it is, let us pray that the peoples’ hearts don’t remain hardened as Pharaoh’s.

ReplyDeleteSome sadness to report also: I had to put my sweet little Casey to sleep earlier today. Her appetite declined rapidly in the last 24 hours and she developed trouble breathing which turned out to be heart failure and arrhythmia. I told the vet if she didn’t think another steroid shot would do any real good that I think it’s time to let her go. I was very concerned about causing her discomfort getting her into the carrier since she was hiding and appeared peaceful. I put her carrier in her room last night and to my surprise found her lying in it ready to go this morning. I thanked God for kindly taking care of this for me. I had to sit in the car outside the vet while she examined her and then had to say goodbye wearing gloves and a mask. I took them off when I was left alone with her so I could touch her exquisitely soft fur one more time. I usually don’t stay for the second shot but remembered my brother telling me I really should. So, I held her as the pink fluid flowed through the iv into my little cat’s vein and told her it won’t be long, I’m sure, before the rest of us join her. I pulled the blanket a little higher on her neck before having to turn and walk away which normally is akin to walking in wet cement but for the very real hope of being reunited soon.
I’m very grateful for the prayers, admonitions and truly helpful advice on immune boosters received from my beloved brethren here. I am using them already on my other cats, who, ironically for me, are all boys. Have had to say goodbye to my mother and 3 cats in five years. It never gets easier. I thank God for sending the starving, homeless, pregnant kitty into my life 15 years ago, although that seems as recent as yesterday in my mind.
Time to break out the arthritis strength Tylenol.

I apparently have drawn another kitty mouth to feed. I kept seeing this little head peering out from the tall grass at the edge of the yard with a strange meow I didn't recognize. Another starving cat, but after a week or so he's already putting a good amount of weight on and is now dubbed "Rooster" for his really loud meow. Fitting right in with the rest of the outdoor cat family. I think there must be a tabby cat "Food and Safe Haven" sign out there that points directly to my house:-) Soon and very soon, Brother!

Blessings dear Mom and thank you so much for your prayers for Casey and me. How wonderful it would be to be reunited with your beloved sister on Resurrection Day if not sooner. And I’m sure Casey and Gus are having the best time together. She really was so sweet. Not a mischievous bone in her body. And, I have learned, whenever I have taken in a poor cat that was really roughing it outside, the more I felt their love toward me. I have only had two cats that came running when I called them, and it was Casey and my beloved Smarty who I named after Smarty Jones the magnificent horse who was almost a Triple Crown winner. I found Smarty at work. He was two yrs old and sadly passed away sixteen months later from mega colon which is almost unheard of in a cat that young. But he lived like a king those sixteen months. My grief was so great that four months later, I had to adopt another black cat that looked just like him and picked up 8 week old Mitch while I was at it. Oh, how Casey and Smarty were attached and devoted to me. They were devoted like dogs are to their owners. Such sentient creatures. Such grief when they pass. Unfortunately, I have never had a cat recover after surgery. And Casey did have surgery to remove the enlarged lymph node. Smarty had surgery on his colon. And Tiger, my very first cat, had surgery to remove a tumor but had FIP which God had graciously allowed him to survive four years with which the vets could not believe. This was long before the vaccine for it. This is the sad part in owning pets but I wouldn’t forgo the joy they bring me and, hopefully, the comfort I bring them to avoid the inevitable heartbreak. God bless you and I look forward to all the longed-for reunions in Heaven while wrapped in the Almighty Arms of our Loving Savior.

I found it interesting tonight that my journal entry was written on 4/8 and Passover begins on 4/8 this year. Also, the words "The dawn of a new day" reminded me of what I recently shared here from my journal back in February which were these words: "It will all be over soon. For as sure as the dawn, I AM."

Although this was a volunteer fig in my backyard, I have over 50 varieties of figs from all over the world (France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Lebanon, etc) that I either propagated or grafted onto existing trees. It's a hobby that I started about 5 years ago. Someday I'll share some photos of the figs when they are fully ripe. You can't even imagine how good they taste!

ReplyDeleteSo quiet regularly, I will paste a pre-written comment on random, secular videos that i watch on YouTube, about the fast approaching, End Times, and the even soon to happen Rapture and I usually say, that Covid-19 is just the start of how bad things will get, and I give the Gospel, and the ABC's (or just the A&Bs) of salvation. That is:
A) Admit you are a Sinner, and
B) Believe on Jesus to save you, paying for all your past, present and future sins.
Most times, my comment, will just get ignored, sometimes it will get one or two thumbs up, some times it will get a "F*** Off", or a random expletive, sometimes it will get one or two thumbs down, occasionally I will get a thumbs up, If anyone replies, I usually just re-affirm the simplicity of the Gospel. and leave the Growth to God.

There are "certain styles" of Christianity that have turned so many people away by presenting "requirements" that make it appear a mountain too high to climb when The Truth is that Mountain has already been scaled for them by the Only One who could ever do it. And once they do see The Rich Truth of His Love, Mercy and Grace, it's more than enough to crack open the hardest of hearts to receive the GIFT of Repentance. ...and I think that all of this might actually happen.
Except the new good guys will also be bad guys, and it will be the new world order in disguise, maybe an inter-dimensional NWO. The arrests and trials will probably be faked, except for the real arrests of people who are threats to this deception. I think that this is the strong delusion mentioned in the bible. The 'good guys' will redistribute the wealth, bring in new technology and seek to end all division between people which was instigated by the globalists - including religion. They will usher in a new golden age of false love and peace, and will deceive even the elect if it were possible.
However I don't believe it will deceive the elect because I think this might all be timed to coincide with the rapture... It would be the perfect time: People quarantined, communications down, and then the shock and awe of the takeover.

When Israel escaped from Egypt, the Angel of Death came at midnight and took away the firstborn of all of Egypt. I was wondering why this differed from the time that Jesus was sacrificed because the time at which the Passover sacrificed was killed in Egypt and the time at which God's perfect Passover Sacrifice was killed for the sins of the world are different.
When Israel escaped from Egypt, they had to slaughter the lamb before midnight on the 14th day of the month - occurring in the first 6 hours of the day then. When Jesus was crucified, this happened between 12 pm and 3 pm the day after midnight had passed.
So the patterns have some differences but still occur within the same day.
Israel was instructed to stay in their houses before they fled from Egypt and the Bible tells us that at "midnight", the Angel of Death passed over Egypt and took the firstborn of all those who were not protected by the blood of the lamb. That is exactly what we see happening today, with all of Israel being confined to their homes for the first time since the Exodus! This is, therefore, a very significant day that we just entered and I thought I would look at what else the Bible had to say about "midnight" and how this may apply to what the world may experience within the next few hours, should this be the time of our escape. What I found made me even more excited!
Please consider the following passages and what they may be hinting at and I am simply listing them as they appear in scripture. I have marked those that I think are very applicable to the time before us with an *:
*Exo 11:4 And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt:

(She was supposed to be Jayden's 4th birthday present, but it didn't take his mother long to permanently deposit her at my house:-D)

I think it was last week that I was in the middle of posting a comment here using the same kind of "roller coaster" analogy in connection with @Sherry Rich's "SUDDENLYS!!!" video when my computer screen blipped and I lost the post and didn't get back to it for some reason. It just blipped again here and I had to start over--which is weird. But anyway, @David B. and @BSAK lent some great confirmation to what I was thinking at the time which was something about riding up the rails to that peak with either an increasing nauseating fear or an anticipatory excitement in play, then just as the bottom SUDDENLY falls out, the Rapture will happen.
DeleteAnyway, that's the same kind of sense I was getting when I made the trek into Walmart yesterday. People walking around--most in masks--and looking at those not wearing them with fear, disgust and avoidance and that truly was a nauseating feeling. I had one with me and put it on just to make others feel more at ease, but I couldn't help thinking "what have they done to people?" We can't even get close enough to one another now to chat--about anything:-/ Then today, masks became mandatory here in our county for anyone going anywhere outside of their home with $1000 fines/180 days jail for non-compliance. It's an awful feeling to see the evil effects the many "isolation" tentacles of this "virus" are having on the minds and hearts of human beings. This enemy becomes more visible by the day and I believe is giving a little mini preview of what hell will be like--a loveless place of constant fear, isolation and never-ending death. Praying for people out there to Wake UP to what is really happening with this thing, then Look UP for Jesus Christ, the ONLY Way of our Salvation:-)

LOL...That's not to say there aren't some riled up folks around here within the "John Wayne" crowd who are of the mind that this thing is one huge fraud being perpetrated on the dumbed-down masses and the man who issued this order is now experiencing some heated backlash. They're also remembering the Jade Helm exercises that took place here just a few years ago. But we have so many non-native Texans that have moved in here recently in an effort to turn the State blue that it was already getting weird with the political fights over everything from getting rid of the "wild chicken sanctuary" that Bastrop has always been known for to turning the streets into "pedestrian only" artistic zones. These Texans were happy with their free eggs, their free parking and their freedoms in general and it wouldn't surprise me if the Secession talk starts up again.
DeleteWe've supposedly got 23 confirmed cases today with one death in this county. My sister came by and said they haven't had a single case of it in their nursing home/hospice facility and that the one man who did pass away in a nearby town had stage 4 cancer and was already in hospice care, but they labeled it a Covid-19 death anyway. She also said that nurses she knows are being laid off as hospitals are being cleared out and sitting empty in "expectation of a big CV surge. Meanwhile"regular" patients are being sent home to "recover" or not...and if they don't, they'll likely label them as Covid-19 casualties. (But this is just one aspect as seen from a kitchen bar stool in rural cow country;-)
Even so, Lord, please come quickly!
Never been on a roller-coaster, I can only imagine :-) lots of ups and downs have been going on prophetically since the end of last year, things are stirring up dramatically then a bit of lighter pause happens, one of these days the rapture will happen very suddenly!

Passover is a picture of the exodus and was fulfilled by Jesus.
The entire barley harvest will come in at passover, meaning 50 days before shavout.
The time between passover and shavout is called, counting the omer.
Counting the omer is the time between the rapture of the church and the middle of the 70th week.
This counting of omers are the entering into heaven of the tribulation saints.

The 50 days between passover and shavout are the 6 seals of revelation 6 that will happen between september 2015 and september 2017.
This counting of the omer are the tribulation saints coming into heaven after they are killed for spreading the word of God.
You shall count for yourselves seven weeks, from when the sickle is first put to the standing crop shall you begin counting seven weeks. Then you will observe the Festival of Shavu'ot for the L-RD, your G-d -Deuteronomy 16:9-10
According to the Torah (Lev. 23:15), we are obligated to count the days from Passover to Shavu'ot. This period is known as the Counting of the Omer. An omer is a unit of measure. On the second day of Passover, in the days of the Temple, an omer of barley was cut down and brought to the Temple as an offering. This grain offering was referred to as the Omer.
Shavout will be in the middle of the 70th week when God shall pour out his spirit on all flesh (Acts 2 and Joël 2)
After the rapture of the 144.000 Jews we switch dispensation from grace to law (giving the Torah) in revelation 14.
The counting of the Omer is called eating of old fruits in Leviticus 25.
Every night, from the second night of Passover to the night before Shavu'ot, we recite a blessing and state the count of the omer in both weeks and days. So on the 16th day, you would say "Today is sixteen days, which is two weeks and two days of the Omer." The Orthodox Union has a chart that provides the transliterated Hebrew and English text of the counting day-by-day. Or if you'd prefer an amusing (yet still accurate!) The counting is intended to remind us of the link between Passover, which commemorates the Exodus, and Shavu'ot, which commemorates the giving of the Torah. It reminds us that the redemption from slavery was not complete until we received the Torah.
This period is a time of partial mourning, during which weddings, parties, and dinners with dancing are not conducted, in memory of a plague during the lifetime of Rabbi Akiba. Haircuts during this time are also forbidden. The 33rd day of the Omer (the eighteenth of Iyar) is a minor holiday commemorating a break in the plague.
This minor holiday called Lag b'Omer is also mentioned in the 5th seal verse 11. ( a season = an appointed feast)
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

The holiday is known as Lag b'Omer. The mourning practices of the omer period are lifted on that date. The word "Lag" is not really a word; it is the number 33 in Hebrew, as if you were to call the Fourth of July "Iv July" (IV being 4 in Roman numerals). Our great adversary the Devil, while not eternal, was immortal from his creation. While he has a great many tools for deception at his disposal, he has been very effective at manipulating our understanding of time to his advantage. In fact, if we were to summarize the most dangerous words man ever uttered down to two words, it would be, perhaps tomorrow.
Despite the often catastrophic happenings that increasingly frequent us in our sin-fallen world (think earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, etc.), our momentary “woke-ness” often appears extremely short-lived. You would think, with as many terrible events we have been witness to over the last hundred years, that we would be hypersensitive to the lateness of the hour in which we live.
Yet, the overwhelming majority of people live their lives thinking that the way things are today will be the way things will always be. Fewer and fewer pulpits even talk about the Rapture or the Second Coming as a real thing.

Yes, the numbers are wildly disproportionate and being that the 2nd number is constantly being revised from millions, to hundreds of thousands, peak death days, reports of z pack and hydroxychloroquine working well and fast, 70% of cases being mild, most dying have comorbidities, CV being reported as cause of death even when it’s not, those on ventilators dying in higher numbers than those put on cpaps/bipaps and a 23 trillion dollar economy ruined, lives ruined, evictions, businesses lost, freedoms wrenched away, over what Dr Fauci admitted last month was seasonal flu and many have developed herd immunity to already. It’s staggering to think how quickly people and nations were brought under control and how different the world is compared with just 2 months ago. First time in history that the flu has caused a worldwide quarantine. But a real look at the numbers and empty hospitals belies the media narrative. They changed the behavior of billions when, ironically, most already try to stay away from sick people. SUNDAY, April 12, marks the first day of the week following Passover.
On this day 2,000 years ago, the women disciples arrived at the tomb of Jesus, who had been brutally crucified three days earlier, to find it empty:
“On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, ‘Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!’” (Luke 24:1-6).
Jesus had been raised from the dead as the “firstfruits” of the resurrection, which all who belong to Christ will ultimately participate in:
“But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep …. [And so] all shall be made alive [resurrected]. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming” (1 Cor. 15:20, 22, 23).
According to the biblical calendar, the day on which the firstfruits of the grain is offered before the Lord—the anniversary of Jesus’ resurrection—marks the beginning of a seven-week countdown to the Festival of Weeks, or Pentecost (Lev. 23:9-11; 15-17).
Pentecost is called the “harvest festival” as it coincides with the peak of the grain harvest. On this day, a similar offering to the Lord would be made. However, rather than grain, as at firstfruits, the Pentecost offering would consist of baked loaves made from the grain.
Notice that the latter offering, baked bread, depends on the former offering of grain. This is analogous to how the resurrection of believers depends on Jesus’ resurrection. Without the former there would be no latter.
Additionally, the baked bread represents the finished state of the grain, similar to how the resurrection of believers represents the finished state of humanity.
For this reason, the countdown to Pentecost is a time of anticipation. Just as the ancient Israelites excitedly numbered the days to the harvest festival, those who long for the metaphorical harvest we call the Rapture anxiously count the days until we meet the Lord in the clouds.
About that day and hour, Scripture says no man or angel knows (Matt. 24:36).
We believe this to be literally and indisputably true.
However, the seven-weeks countdown, beginning April 12 this year, is a reminder that with each passing day we are closer to the moment that we, like Jesus, will be raised to eternal life.
