Is the Rapture Earned? - Lyn Melvin

Lyn Melvin came out with a new article today that addresses a topic that seems to be coming up a lot recently.  She writes far more eloquently they I could ever dream, so I present you this excerpt and link for your tenderhearted consideration.  I will say, the line highlighted below pricked me pretty good...
So many of us have expressed how very ready we are for our Lord to snatch us away! This too is analogous to pregnancy as many know by experience. Those who have carried a child to full term just want that baby to be born! But do we realize what that means in terms of Eternity? Are we a Bride that is in love with the idea of her extravagant wedding day or in love with her Bridegroom?
Is The Rapture Earned - Lyn Melvin

For those of you who had been following the Meteor Shower last week, you may find this interesting.  I am not sure what to make of it, but apparently we just missed what might have been the most dramatic meteor shower in hundreds of year.  Some don't believe that what we say was the fulfillment, others think that God wanted to make this sign not so completely obvious.  I will leave that one up to you, but here is an excerpt, link and a pic for your consideration:
"It was a rare and impressive event," says Atanackov.

It could easily have been 10 times more impressive. In fact, Earth narrowly dodged a meteor storm.

The European outburst occurred as Earth skirted a filament of debris from Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner. If that filament had shifted in our direction by a mere 0.005 AU (~500,000 miles), Earth would have experienced a worldwide storm of 1000+ meteors per hour.

As reminder, the date that Darren Jack's video series is pointing to is quickly approaching.  October 17th is here in a few days and you may want to catch up on his latest video below if you feel led.  Here's to hoping that he is correct!  Maranatha!!

  1. In response to Lyn's question in her article's headline of course everybody should know that "the rapture is NOT earned" in any way. It is simply the way and method to get the living group of Gods true believers out of the way before judgement starts on earth. In Noahs days at the FIRST great judgement by WATER, God would let his people either die like Methusalah, take them in the rapture like Enoch or let them build a ship like Noah. If there would have been any more believers than 8 people back then, God would also have kept them alive somehow. So, but as there will be another concept of judgement by FIRE now and a collective event of "rapture" announced in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 this kind of taking away a living remnant of believers is just the physical method given to those who are then present on earth to save them from what comes next and deliver them to a safe place. It can never be some "reward".

The same could be said about those who were meeting the living Son of God alive when Jesus Christ was walking on earth in the flesh 1 John 1:1-3. But did they consider it to be a " reward"? This is what Jesus said to them about meeting him in person 2,000 years ago:

    >>But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.<< (Matthew 13:16-17)

The same can be said about the event of the rapture (Hebrews 11:39-40) as all those who were waiting for it and expecting it during their lifetime would "not made be perfect without us" on that great day of resurrection. This day will be the same kind of spectacular for the dead in Christ as it will be for the living saints. But it is not some kind of "reward" for extra kind of believers. We just happen to be ALIVE in our bodies when this occurs. It's the technical term for a physical thing. And as Christs kingdom on earth will need glorified saints to work with, they will also be BODILY changed according to 1 Corinthians 15:52. Dead or alive.

What more than "reward" could there be than the one penny to be sent into Gods vineyard, the promise of eternal life given to all the same but what NO ONE would have got if not the owner of the vineyard would have gone out first to hire them? (Matthew 20:1-16) To regard the rapture likewise would make those who make a difference among believers and promoting false teachings about it here to exactly that kind of labourers who began to "murmur against God" at the end of the parable. They must take heed not to be considered "last" then... MARANATHA!

    1. Agreed, earning sounds like works, something which we cannot ever hope to accomplish.

Odd that there are people even asking the question, disheartening as well.

    2. Yes, Annabel and ReticentIndignation! It surprised me when I learned what some popular men of God were teaching regarding the Rapture and salvation. The Scriptures easily come to mind that salvation is by grace; but when it comes to the Rapture, some--like Perry Stone, for example, teach that only faithful believers will be Raptured! It really spurred me on to find and then share Scriptural evidence that our gathering to meet the Lord in the air is part of our birthright package as Nora so aptly wrote <3

    3. The thing I've always found so amazing is those who contend the Rapture is a reward for - faithful Believers, works, etc. - always just simply know they, themselves, will be taken. It's "those others" who aren't spiritual enough, don't abstain from the proper foods, don't repent correctly, don't observe the proper feasts, don't attend the right church, don't really "love" Jesus, yet they are absolutely certain they do not fit into any of those categories. When you really analyze it, the very source of this claim is pride and we know where Abba stands on that one. Father God has no second class children and His Rapture flight has no First Class or Economy Seats. Saved is Saved and only Yahweh knows a person's heart condition and whether or not their conversion is genuine or head knowledge. Apart from the pride factor, they completely ignore and dismiss the very practical considerations of any gospel being taught which is different to the time period, Gospel of Grace, versus the Kingdom Gospel would then be "competing" and one, according to Paul would be anathema (cursed). Holy Spirit by his Seal and Indwelling of every genuine Believer is the Restrainer and the Man of Sin cannot be made known until the Restrainer is removed, every Restrainer. I believe, like so many other things we encounter, this is at its core a pride-filled teaching pointing to the teacher and their followers as somehow "better" followers of Jesus Christ than the rest because of their own merit and Salvation is simply not merit-based. Works are judged at the BEMA and those works matter very much at that time - so does the spirit behind and the reason for the works. Two individuals may do the exact same things - one will have their works burned up at the BEMA and the other will see gold and jewels. What is the difference? The heart - motive. None of us are ever 100% pure of selfish motive, but those who are aware its a problem and seek the face of the Father and Holy Spirit to correct motive are in a far better position than those who are pointing the finger always at others. To be deceptive is a very bad thing, to deceive yourself and others along with you is a frightening thing. Blessings - Sherry

Have really missed you, Brother, and so looking forward to that any day now when we all meet our Jesus together:-)

  3. Excerpt from Sister Lyn’s article:

“And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. - Romans 8:10-11 KJV

It is the Spirit of God within that seals and quickens us the day Jesus comes for His Bride.

Therefore, those who are born again of incorruptible seed are “in Christ”. It is by faith by an act of grace (Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8), not by works. The rapture is NOT an earned reward; it is given to us by grace. We are not worthy to escape by our works, but we are made worthy “in Christ”

Amen! I believe the same (and been saying it whenever this topic was brought up.) I also believe that being included in the rapture is not a reward but a *birthright* which comes with the package of being in the Family of God and being part of the Lord’s Body! Everything's by His grace alone! Also, His Holy Spirit resides in us, we are sealed by Him and He’s the guarantee that the Lord will take all the born again ones in the rapture.

(On a side-note, it’s refreshing to see that the anti-eternal security stance of a very popular pastor is recognized and acknowledged by other brethren. I take our eternal security in Christ pretty seriously, this is one of the things where I can’t “spit the bones and keep the meat”.)

    1. Yes Nora.... among what Lyn and others have shared, there are 3 things on this issue that seal the deal for me regarding the so called partial rapture and eternal security.

      1. John 6:37-40... read this passage slowly... notice the following words (ALL, NEVER, NOTHING, EVERYONE, and last but not least WILL OF MY FATHER)
All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

      2. Colossians 1:18... and Ephesians 1:22-23. Jesus is the head, we are the Body. We are one unit that must be together FULLY during the tribulation....leave no man behind...leave no body part behind. Look at these words and compare them to what John Nelson Darby wrote regarding this concept and Rev 12.

"And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent."

"And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all."

"I have no doubt that the “man child” spoken of in the chapter that we have been reading includes the church as well as Christ. But it is Christ that is principally meant, for the church would be nothing without Christ; it would be a body without a head. It is Christ who has been caught up; but the church is included, for whenever He begins to act publicly, even as regards Satan being cast down, He must have His body, His bride, with Him; He must have His brethren, His joint-heirs." -Darby

      3. There is a difference between a true born-again believer in Christ, and a nominal Christian. Many of those who fill the pews today have sadly, tragically, never accepted Jesus Christ as their own personal savior. They may know all sorts of things ABOUT Him, but they don't really KNOW Him. They consider themselves Christians, but is an external association, not a true heart position. So this is how I see it.... in that sense, yes, some "Christians" will be left behind at the rapture, but for the simple fact that they weren't really TRUE BELIEVERS in the first place. God in His mercy will give them a chance to wake up in the end times and come to faith, although it will be a much more difficult path at that time.

      Delete
    2. Amen, Brad! John 6:37-40 is a wonderful and clear assurance right from the mouth of the Lord Jesus! Plus, the rapture is called as *blessed hope* for a reason!

"in that sense, yes, some "Christians" will be left behind at the rapture, but for the simple fact that they weren't really TRUE BELIEVERS in the first place."

I agree! And the same is true to those who will be told by Him at His Second Coming that He has never knew them. He couldn't *know them* since they have never been born again, His Holy Spirit has never resided inside of them to know them in that personal, intimate way, the Lord uses these words. (He knows every person but by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit our relationship with Him is very unique and personal and beyond words and beyond our current understanding wonderful!)

      Delete
    3. Amen, Brad and Nora!
Brad, thanks for sharing Lyn's article with us and the others as well. My thoughts are that the true church will be recognized not only by their genuine love for Christ, our Groom, but by their love for one another as well.
Yesterday, being such a cold, raw and dreary day, I spent some time going through comments on different videos I watched and was really disturbed by some seriously ugly mud-slinging among people claiming to represent Christ over issues that are purely interpretational, condemning each other to hell for daring to see inconsequential things differently. Things that none of us can definitively KNOW anyway because the Scriptures are not explicitly plain about it. Your tomayto might be my tomahto, but either way, it's a tomato and much more nourishing when shared rather than thrown. (imho)

So vastly different from those who shared their admitted opinions with logic, reason and kindness toward one another. It almost made me think that our Lord's vagueness on certain issues in the Word serve the purpose of a winnowing tool to expose the true condition of hearts claiming to belong to Him. It reminded me of John 21:15-17 when Jesus asked Peter 3 times if he loved His Lord and each time Peter said yes, he was admonished to feed the lambs and sheep. Not to beat on them with a stick or call them names, but to FEED THEM and encourage them, love them, be a friend to, have affection for them both in heart and mind.

Lyn's suggestion to ask ourselves if it is truly Jesus Christ that we are really in love with was worthy enough for Jesus to ask it of Peter 3 times. While in this flesh we are constantly at spiritual war with, it's not a bad idea to be checking ourselves and our hearts on a regular basis, especially with the tension mounting the closer we get to Home, Amen.

      Blessings and Maranatha!

    6. Brad, that section of Scripture you shared in John Chapter 6 is so moving to me--Jesus' love for us is expressed like poetry.

Also, I have been wanting to comment about the meteor shower. It speaks volumes that we have a God that controls the heavens and that we just barely missed "a worldwide storm of 1000+ meteors per hour"! I only viewed two meteors streak overhead in between all the clouds in my region.

I think it pleases Him that we are watching and trying to recognize whatever indicators He gives us of His soon appearing. Thank you, Brad, and thank you Gary for "cluing us in"--it lifts me up so that I can keep going forward in that which He has called me to do.<3

    7. That is it, Nora. It's an African Buffalo with an Oxpecker in it's face. These Bovines are four times more powerful than any other ox-type animals, fierce and untameable. Extremely intelligent with good memories for injustices done them. That bird, although it eats parasites is a parasite itself that inflicts wounds and irritates wounds further as it pecks holes in the flesh and drinks blood. They are only tolerated by the host animal for a short period of time.
I just see the raw power in that animal's face and eyes and when I think of who our Chief Ox is from a Biblical standpoint and look at the evil appearance of that red-eyed blood-sucking bird in his face, I see a showdown depicted there. But maybe that's just me:-) Blessings, Sister!

  4. Good Day, ALL! So far, it seems posters are settling in agreement on the Sufficiency of 'Soli Deo Gloria' in this, as in all other Things of The Kingdom, which is fitting. Annabel's post prompted a response but then Brad's and other's comments seeking to untangle these details led me to make it a general post.

Two key points resonated in what was thus written. 1st, Sheila B.'s echo of a point I have made repeatedly, though her wording does it a bit more justice than I: "It almost made me think that our Lord's vagueness on certain issues in the Word serve the purpose of a winnowing tool to expose the true condition of hearts claiming to belong to Him." Key word: CLAIMING. Doesn't that just make sense? HE Knows the Truth behind ALL of what we dig for, and that the very digging both Testifies of our love and challenges us deeply and broadly. KNOWING the Reality of which is tied to what and why, and how this translates to when and what, and our desperate cry for answers, His Word on the topic WINNOWS as he teases us with peeks and tests the heart and sifts away.

2nd, Brad's parsing of the HEART as the issue, not pew attendance, and the inability of the Worldly to SEE that, which leads to "christians" being left behind to their confusion and our concern, until then. Just as the ungodly behaviors arise from the overflow of the heart (Matthew 12:34; Proverbs 4:23; Proverbs 10:11; Psalm 14:1; Proverbs 21:2; Proverbs 24:12; Ezekiel 11:21; Ezekiel 16:30; Luke 6:45), and are a valid affirmation or indictment of it, in regards how Watchers have treated one another these past couple years lining up with verses foretelling precisely what we've seen, the SAME dynamic, albeit with different shades, is occurring in the winnowing/sifting of ALL, Maranatha!

  5. John 10:28.... John 3:6 the natural comes first then the spirit. For those that are born in the spirit are his and nobody can pluck you from his hands. I think the better question is does doctrine keep you from being ruptured. Like it was said above it's for true believers.

    Replies
    1. Nice one, Brent.

You said, "...does doctrine keep you from being ruptured." I think you meant to type "raptured." However, this inadvertently results in some sweet wordplay that confirms the full/complete rapture of the entire body:

The whole body of Christ, every single member, will be raptured, not ruptured! Amen!

      :)

      Delete
    2. I like that guys!!! : ) That's good. It's called the RAPTURE not the RUPTURE! I think Scripture is pretty clear that we are all one body and we all go together!! Some brothers and sisters may not agree... but as Shelia would say, what we think doesn't make a hills of beans to God... (We all see through a glass darkly, but in relation to wrong interpretation about the rapture I think that's why some of our brethren might be "ashamed at His coming" per 1 John 2:28).

As see it, we are His BODY....this will not be some type of "dismemberment" procedure like you will find in a planned parenthood.... this is a BIRTH per God's Design.... Head first...then the ENTIRE BODY follows!!! And like his physical body... I would like to think that not one bone will be broken ala John 19:36!

      Delete
    3. LOL! Well...just to clarify re the "hill of beans" -- that only applies to topics He's chosen not to clearly explain Himself on to us wee ones. Those He IS plain about, our thinking certainly needs to be in line with His:-)

      Delete
    4. That is really good on the rapture vs rupture in comparing the rapture which is the birth of the body of Christ, the whole body and the rupture of the birth of an abortion, a dismemberment.
Roger Sings included John 5:24 (further below) which tells us that we are no longer judged. It would be incongruent that God would punish us or discipline us for sin by having us remain on earth when the rapture happens to purify us, etc. when we no longer are under judgement or condemnation for sin. This would include lack of faith and all of the self-works we do or think we need to do in trying to be ready for the rapture. Many are agonizing and worrying about being considered ready by God. This all falls under the works of the flesh. We are told not to worry, for example. We have died to the flesh and we have access to the heavenlies, because we have died with Christ and have risen with him. Christ finished the work that God sent him to do on the cross which was paying the penalty for our sin. God accepted His sacrifice. Nothing that we do can add to this or keep us 'ready'. It is our ''work" to believe on the one who God sent, His only begotten Son. We trust in the finished work of Christ, not in our own efforts. We are faithless, but God remains faithful.
"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. - John 5:24
This is certainly food for thought and doubly so with the ''Verily, Verily" Jesus said which means to pay attention, listen, take heed ... What had Miguel said on the previous post, it's not "I Got This", or "We Got This", it's "He's Got This". We are in the Father's and the Son's hands, and, the Holy Spirit will bring us to Him. Not because of anything we have done or are doing but only what Christ has done.

  6. Promise #289:
If I look after the sparrows, I will certainly look after you.

    Luke 12:6-7
“Aren’t five sparrows sold for two assaria coins? Not one of them is forgotten by God.
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore don’t be afraid.
You are of more value than many sparrows.

I love this passage of Scripture where Jesus tells us how important the sparrows are to God. Even though they do not have much value to us, He will not even forget one of them. In Matthew 10:29 Jesus tells us that not even one of them will fall to the ground apart from His Father's will. This is the value He places on a single bird!

But then Jesus goes on to tell us that we have a value to God worth more than many sparrows! So if God looks after and watches over these little birds, how much more will He watch over us? Our value to God far exceeds the birds of the air who neither sow or reap or store into barns (Matthew 6:25-34).

The next time you are feeling anxious about the future, just take a moment and look at a bird, or a squirrel, or a tree for that matter. God provides for all that He created because that is simply what good fathers do. If He looks after even the most insignificant of His creation, will He not also look after you?

  7. THINGS THAT ARE ETERNAL

    2 Corinthians 4:18
"...while we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal."

The every day calling of a Christian is to live a supernatural life. We are called to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus who is the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2) and to look on the things are that are eternal rather than the things that are temporal.

This kind of Spirit-led life (Romans 8:14) is not reserved for the greatest of spiritual leaders, but for every person who has been born from above. Galatians 5:17 tells us that the things of the Spirit of God are in continual conflict with the things of our flesh. So if you are feeling a war waging in your members today, don't be surprised because your natural mind can never be in harmony with the mind of Christ. While we are still in this world, we are no longer of this world.

My prayer today is that our God and Father would open up the eyes of our hearts in increasing measure so that we could truly see who we are in Christ. We are not orphans left alone to try and manage our circumstances all by ourselves. We are sons and daughters to Almighty God who are accepted, loved, protected and provided for!

May faith rise up in our hearts to see through the eyes of our Elder Brother Jesus who lives in us. May we encounter divine appointments wherever we go and live out our destiny as part of the royal family of the living God.

    Ephesians 1:15-23
"For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which you have toward all the saints, don’t cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come. He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all."

  8. Our Lord is so very amazing! Last night in prayer I wanted to ask Him a question. I said, "Yeshua, I know regarding this, it doesn't make a hill of beans to You what I think or don't think, or what anybody else thinks one way or the other, but I'm gonna ask You anyway" and so I did ask about it, then went on to bed. I woke up about 4 am this morning with two strange, but very clear words.

    "Sargasso Sea"

It sounded faintly familiar like something I thought existed, but I knew nothing about the what or where of it, so I researched it. Turns out it that for me, this Sea contains a concise and satisfactory answer to my question. I'm not going to share the question, but for anyone who wants to learn something you might not know about the Sargasso Sea, you might figure out what that question was:-)

    Blessings All!

    2. Okay, so I was curious and researched. It has a bunch of seaweed and encompasses the Bermuda Triangle. No clue what your question might have been! 🙂

    3. Don't laugh but all I could think of was the number 4. I can't imagine what you would have asked. But, I want a relationship like you have Sheila. I was thinking about this today. I remember asking him for this as I was thinking about Stubby the fish and Finding Nemo and keep on swimming ...

    4. Cathi, not laughing at all and the 4 re all four directions W,N,E and S is a crucial part of it.
The only thing I know is that it isn't anything I do, or ever did do except to simply believe that it's the kind of relationship that He wants with me, and with you and with all of us--just up close and real personal.

The Sargasso Sea is the only one of it's kind in the whole world having no land boundaries and the answer was in the details of what it is and how and why this 700 mile wide x 2000 mile long Sea functions as it does--You do know you are in it when you see the brown Sargassum seaweed mats floating in it's calm deep blue waters. It is also a spawning ground for many wonderful species of marine life:-)

    5. Nicely put Sheila! As for Sargasso, I read some of the 4 winds and the seaweed self-generated.
Where was Jonah in the ocean?

    6. Wikipedia has a good explanation and overview of how and why the Sargasso Sea functions and it's importance. Our God's handiwork never ceases to amaze:-)

    7. Cathi, Jonah was sailing from Joppa to Tarshish to elude the Lord, but with the uncertainty on exactly where this Tarshish was located (perhaps in southern Spain) it was likely he was on the Mediterranean Sea, but possibly on the Red Sea.

      Delete
    8. Something I learned yesterday from an unnamed source..... : ) The Sargasso Sea could only form through the effects of the earths ROTATION! (FE models could not account for this).

      Delete
    9. I think you figured it out Brad. Her question must've been, "Lord, is the earth flat or round?" Right Sheila? so awesome.

    11. Too funny, Jimboni. I was trying to think creatively as to Jonah and the great fish ... But, the flat vs round earth ... I love it ... Would this have to do with the four winds swirling at this point. Its the only thing like it in the world. This I think creates the seaweed which is 700 miles in width and 2,000 miles in length. Other trash ends up getting trapped in this seaweed. It is a refuge for creatures as Sheila said.

    12. I know that NASA lies to us, the Govts. lie to us, The World lies to us. I know that the systems of this world are founded by evil, corrupt and deceptive people with an agenda. But the enemy has from the get go concealed his lies with enough Truth to be palatable and the lies are often nestled right in the middle of the Truth. That's why they work so well.
      Case in point:

      Gen.3:3 KJV
"But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, NEITHER SHALL YE TOUCH IT, lest ye die." (emph. mine and not what God said)

And he has always used what our God has created to deceive people with an offer of esoteric knowledge. He ironically appeals to man's intelligence in order to deceive him and he's very good at it. I don't think it'd be a stretch to say Adam and Eve were probably the smartest people God ever created IQ wise. And yes, my question was about something that is becoming so strangely divisive among the Brethren, I felt compelled to just ask Him about it. The Creator of ALL things has no obligation to reveal or defend His works, but that's how He chose to answer, so I believe when God says something or someone will not be moved, He is generally referring to a taking away from a path which He has ordained.

Blessings ALL and Marantha! So ready to be with the Truth, Himself, Amen:-)

  14. I appreciate the Berean attitude of my Revelation 12 Daily family to search the scriptures for the assurance of our Salvation, Sanctification and Glorification in Jesus Christ and the promise of the appearance of our Blessed Hope (Titus 2:13), the rapture. Those who are born again in Christ Jesus have "passed over" from death to life (John 5:24). I don't consider the rapture a reward for faithfulness but a promise that those who are born again and alive at Christ's appearance will be raptured, along with those who have died in Christ. (1 Thessalonians 4:16).

The issue is that the Church is full of leaven and weeds, Christians In Name Only (CINO)s, having an appearance of Godliness but denying it's power (2 Timothy 3:5). CINOs are NOT born again, they are not saved, they do not have Spiritual life in Jesus Christ and they will not be raptured (1 Corinthians 15:50-52). It is not our job to pull up the weeds in the Church because we do not have a "Holy Spirit Breathelizer" to determine who is saved, who is not saved, who is on fire for the Lord and who is falling away in sin. Pray for God people to get right with Jesus and honor Him first in everything they do! The day is nearly here brother and sisters. Blessings and Maranatha!

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. - John 5:24

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

    2. Hi Roger - just to clarify - the 'blessed hope' is not the rapture. The word harpazo is not used in the Titus verses and is not in context of the rapture (nor in Thessalonians where harpazo is aligned with the resurrection). The 'appearing of His glory' is when all the world sees Christ in his final coming (the epiphony). Thessalonians 2:8 uses the same word for 'appearing' when it notes that Christ takes out the AC with his breath and brings to an end 'by his appearing' etc

    4. Ryan, I understand that Christ will come "with" His Saint in glory at the end of the Tribulation to take out the Antichrist (Revelation 19:11-21). Yes, this occurs with Christ's appearing as explained in 2 Thessalonians 2:8. But Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians is encouragement to wait for the Son from heaven, Jesus, to "rescue" them from the "wrath" to come (1 Thessalonians 1:9). This is Paul's message to the Thessalonians, a rescue from the wrath to come (the day of the Lord) ... a pre-tribulation rapture ... a "harpazo" event that is explained in the closing part of the letter (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18), which gives them "comfort".

As far as the Titus 2:13 reference, I think it is possible that Paul is referring to "two" events in this scripture, the "Blessed Hope" which is the pre-tribulation rapture of the Church "and" the "appearing of the glory" when the Church will ride with Jesus at the end of the Tribulation.

I have read and re-read these rapture related scriptures hundreds of times and I don't understand why Paul didn't make the issue clearer? Perhaps it is so we will be Bereans and do our own searching ... yet, we see through a glass dimly at this time. May the Lord bless us in our search for truth and strengthen us to stand strong and shine the light of Jesus as we encourage one another in these last days.

      https://www.gotquestions.org/blessed-hope.html

Titus 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,

1 Thessalonians 1: 9 For they themselves report about us what kind of a reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God, 10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.

      Delete
    5. Roger, that's what I see in the reading of Titus 2:13 as well re it's likely being a two part picture of the Rapture/Resurrection and the 2nd Advent. After all, Paul's hope was in being caught up to meet the Lord in the air, whether by Rapture or Resurrection, as is ours. 1Thess.4:16-17. If the "us", the "peculiar people" of Titus 2:14 are the redeemed Body of Christ, then the Raptured and Resurrected Church will already be with Him at the time of the Glorious Appearing rather than on earth awaiting Him and our Blessed Hope will have already become the reality. Blessings Brother and so nice to see you chiming in:-)

  16. I've read that comment of Brother Sean (at Eschatology Today) this morning (and found it encouraging):

"Within Jeremiah's prophetic word from God there is very strong evidence that a generation is 70 years. Because of Judah's abominations before God, He said He would forsake the entire generation. Then followed the 70 years of Babylonian captivity, first within the Babylonian Empire, and then within what became the Persian Empire. (Fulfilling Daniel's prophecy while he was in Babylon) At the completion of the 70th year of exile the restoration of Israel commenced with a new generation, a return to the land, the rebuilding of the cities and Jerusalem and the 2nd Temple.

Israel has just completed the 70th year since its modern-day return from exile. The LORD will move swiftly now with His plan for the redemption of all Israel."

  17. Promise #290:
If you remain still, I will do your fighting for you.

    Exodus 14:14
“Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still.”

In today's promise, we have an amazing assurance that the God who spoke the entire universe into existence will fight for us if we will only remain still. The NIV Bible says this verse this way...The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." (NIV)

I believe there is something in the heart of God that fights on our behalf when we do not try and fight for ourselves. Waiting on the Lord is not passive, but it is the most active thing we can do. When we wait on God to fight for us, we are putting ourselves in a very vulnerable position and by doing so, we are demonstrating in a very practical way that we know that our heavenly Dad is the source of our help.

Does this mean that we never wage warfare on a spiritual level? After all, the Bible says that we are to 'resist the devil and he will flee', 'take on the full armor of God', etc. I believe what Exodus 14:14 is talking about is fighting in our own strength. There is a huge difference from fighting our battles in our own best efforts and fighting battles in the power of the Lord's might.

When we learn that the battle really is the Lord's, we can rest in His ability to save us and draw from His strength and not our own. Whatever battle you are facing today, be comforted in knowing that you have a Father (God) and a Big Brother (Jesus) fighting on your behalf. You only need to be at peace and watch what happens.

  18. THIS IS LOVE

    1 John 3:16-18
“By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him? My little children, let’s not love in word only, neither with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.”

The New International Version translates 1 John 3:16 this way... This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. (NIV) If we want to know what love is, all we have to do is look at the price that Jesus paid for our redemption. There is no greater expression of love than Jesus' death upon a cross when He took upon Himself all of the sins of the world.

Over the years, we have heard many people tell us that they struggle to believe that God loves them. While it is easy to understand why people would struggle to believe that they are loved considering the circumstances surrounding their upbringing, my prayer today is that God's love would triumph over every area of unbelief!

May faith rise up in our hearts even when circumstances, other people, an orphan world system or our own self-induced negative thoughts scream out that we are not loved. May the Holy Spirit give us the grace to continually look at the cross as the once and for all expression of the eternal love that God has for us. May we see ourselves and our eternal value to God through His eyes from now on.

For the truth is that our Heavenly Father gave up everything that He loved in order to gain our love and the cross of Jesus Christ stands as the eternal token of the price that both Father and Son paid for our redemption. May the revelation of this love cause us to never again doubt that we are loved.

    Romans 8:31-39
“What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

A 7 minute animated movie completed in 2012 seems to be loaded with symbolism. They started making the movie in 2006 ish.

The theory is that it contains messages about the hidden agendas and plans of dark forces, ultimately satan. Imagine satan has known for a long time that he's got a heyday coming and he might even know when. he's excited and he's even manipulating the wicked and evil people in the world such that if we pay attention we may be able to decode the times and information.

The video is indicating approximately November 2 for something evil.

"I have no idea why, but for some unknown reason I'm unable to put my finger on I have a nagging or incessant concern for this coming weekend. The 20th of October to be specific. Woke up with this concern a couple of days ago and simply cannot shake it. Lord, am I missing something obvious?! I mention this only because if something major does occur in the Middle East or elsewhere, well, at least I will be alert for it. Hopefully Monday will round around and nothing will have occurred. That would be great!"

(A sister wrote in a comment as a reply that maybe the Lord's coming for us... Now that would be great! :-)

    4. Annabel, no forgiveness necessary. I know this wait is so hard on everybody and especially when fighting health issues, but try to think of it this way--This will be only the 2nd time in all of human history when men will come face to face with our Lord Jesus Christ and WE in the here and now get to be a part of that indescribable moment in the WHOLE OF TIME and in a wonderful way. For those who saw Him the first time, it was only the beginning of a long journey of endurance, but for us it is the end. The knowing of that privilege alone keeps me going through many days that I absolutely would otherwise dread. And know, Sister that He will Not give you any more than you can bear. 22. In reference to I Pet Goat it isn't the only thing out there referencing the second of November. Using the same method of interpretation the license plate on the car in Atomic Blonde was B-AM 911 and it was being chased by a Porche 911. In the video I watched (which I have been unable to relocate) they said it meant the second 911 is scheduled for 2 November 2018. I saw this one first so I Pet Goat didn't seem so outlandish to me when I watched it. I guess we will see but there is more than one witness and it's interesting when you look at the day count for the purification before the child can be presented to the Lord falling on the same day. 1 Thessalonians 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

I watched this video on my phone, and my work PC YouTube is Blocked, but please lookup his video.

Basically I seen Charlie in DC & Miguel P mentioned about November 2nd. And this video basically ties in the Presidential Alert send on the 3rd of Oct with a covert message linking to November 2nd.

  25. LET YOUR GENTLENESS BE KNOWN

    Philippians 4:5
"Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand."

Gentleness is a character trait that is of great value in God's sight. We read about this in 1 Peter 3:4 when Peter writes”... but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious. “

In one of the few places in the New Testament where Jesus describes Himself, He refers to Himself as being gentle... Matthew 11:29 – “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.” Gentleness is also listed as being part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23.

King David declared to God the following words in 2 Samuel 22:36 ...”You have also given me the shield of your salvation. Your gentleness has made me great.“ I am so glad that God deals with us in His gentleness. If He treated us like we deserved, we would definitely be in trouble... But He doesn't.

I believe that 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 describes the gentleness of the Lord and how He treats us when Paul writes... “Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

My prayer today is that we would radiate the same gentleness to those around us that God shows to us. May we be known as a gentle people who are patient and kind and tenderhearted so we will be just like our big brother!

    Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

    1. OK, Preacher, now you've stepped over the line from preachin' to meddlin'. You have alighted upon a point highly challenging, speaking for myself. In light of the numerous struggles we've shared here it is likely others understand as well. I've a few thoughts here.

On one hand, as the tide of evil arises as not before, and its stench and manifestations in the unsaved around us mount, much of which we see/feel and much of which we sense/feel, "I'm unable to put my finger on I have a nagging or incessant concern", AND our spirits, more for some than others, are, perhaps, resonating, in-kind with coming Wrath on the ungodly rejecters of Messiah, we are pressed HARDER THAN EVER and Gentleness is NOT what I deliver, as it does not indwell me in this. Still, much of our need for Christ is entangled with the fact that His Standards Are Absolute. Thus, this odd tense space of this moment is a balancing act demanding Spirit Direction, surely. Still, I fall far, far short.

Lastly, I've often been comforted by Self Control being at the END of that FOTS list and, seeing Gentleness right before it, that also fits. Funny, though, the flesh would put Self Control ahead of Gentleness, it seems. Isn't it just like our Elegant Lord that His Spirit, developing His Likeness in us, fashions Gentleness in us as a FOUNDATION for Self Control? Pondering that for just a moment, I sense I gaze into a deep, deep well, Maranatha!

      Delete
    2. I guess Jimboni in thinking if self-control were first it would be like the law and living by "works". It could end up being regimented, cold and impersonal. It would be about performance and not possibilities. What do you think?

O Yahweh, I stand in awe of your works.
In the midst of the years, revive it!
In the midst of the years, make it known!

      His splendor covers the heavens,
and his praise fills the earth.
      4 And his brightness was like the light;
      flashing rays came from his hand for him;
And there is the covering of his strength.
      5 Before him went Disease,
and Pestilence went out at his feet.
      6 He stood and measured the earth;
he looked and made the nations tremble.
      Then the mountains of old were shattered;
      the hills of old collapsed.
The ways of old belong to him.
      7 Under affliction I saw the tents of Cushan;
the tent curtains of the land of Midian trembled.
8 Was the anger of Yahweh against the rivers?
Was your wrath against the rivers,
or your fury against the sea,
when you mounted upon your horses,
      upon your victory chariot?
9 You laid bare the nakedness of your bow,
swearing oaths with the arrows of your word.
You split the earth with rivers.
      10 When the mountains saw you they writhed;
      a torrent of waters swept by;
      the deep gave its voice;
it raised its hands on high.
      11 Sun and moon stood still in their place;
      at the light of your arrows they moved about;
at the gleam of the flashing of your spear.
      12 In fury you marched through the earth;
in anger you trampled the nations.
13 You went forth for the salvation of your people,
for the salvation of your anointed.
You crushed the head of the house of wickedness,
laying bare from the foundation to the top.
      14 You pierced the head of his warriors with his own arrows;
they came like a whirlwind to scatter me,
their exultation like one who devours the afflicted in ambush.

    4. Well, Jimboni, after getting over my initial startlement lunging out of gate there, your post was like an exercise in watching Gentleness put Self Control in it's proper place. A poetic blessing, Brother. TY!

      Delete
    5. Well said, Sheila B., as usual. To echo Cathi G., above, self control is a close cousin of legalism and smack in the middle of paradoxical reliance on the Spirit while not shirking our part, oh my. Sherry Griffin, clearly the warrior's cry of exalting our Warrior King you hear amidst my murmurings. That, again, is that odd paradox of such and Nora's urging alongside. Each in its place, yet the message of gentleness is not one of works but of one's very nature.

Two thoughts: (1) all the action statements from Habakkuk are "YOU", and while we may resonate along with that, it is Our Lord Who Acts, again parallel Nora's other points; (2) is Our Lord any less Gentle, in His Being, when focusing His Rage Upon the Ungodly? A rhetorical question, it begs the answer: of course not. He Never Changes. When we are fully 'Born Again', as it were, and no longer peering through a glass dimly, THEN the Holy Paradoxes in these things will likely make sense fully, and not until. But, like any good pack of Rabbi's, it is our lot to ponder such things and debate them ad infinitum, Maranatha!

      Delete
    6. Jimboni, I absolutely hear you. IDK if I should say so but you nailed it with the key word 'self control' living with 2 impatient hotspur brethren (hsb & son) myself. Just yesterday I endured a sort of "rapture tantrum" until 2am, I will give no details... The very irony was, we just had finished watching the 'Granite Mountain Hotshots' 2017 movie on Amazon Prime (check the end of the story if you don't know). I'm not sure if there's anybody yet imperfect in exercising self control but I guess this is the time to finish the polish! MARANATHA!

      Delete
    7. Jimboni, self control is a fruit of the Spirit. Legalism is a fruit of the enemy. So I don't think they are even cousins. Perhaps opposite sides of a coin? Maranatha brother (sorry to nitpick).

      Delete
    8. Oh, Jimboni, I so agree Habakkuk is absolutely speaking of our Savior as He returns (to Bozrah first then on to the Mount of Olives) and kicks hiney. It just helps me when I see unfairness and out of control evil to review those passages and know the day is coming when we will be allowed to sit on the sidelines, since we accompany him, and watch Him take vengeance over evil and unfairness. Yes, Nora is so right, we must exercise Self-Control, the Fruit of the Spirit, and on those days when I want to stand and rage at the unfairness of it all I read these passages and realize their comeuppance will come and not at my hands, but at the hands of Him who always gets it all just right! Isaiah 34:1-7, Isaiah 63:3-6, Micah 2:12-13 and Judges 5:4-5. Most churches only speak of their version, created in their own minds, of a Pacifist Jesus, but when He returns He is no longer the Suffering Servant, but the Conquering King. It helps me very much to deal with the frustration and unfairness of it all. Like the Martyrs under the altar, my heart cry is, "How long Oh, Lord, until you avenge Your Righteous Name?" His Precious Name has been besmirched by the enemy and by "the church" for so many years for they have only shown one side of His nature. The other side is Justice, and that comes right soon! Well, what do you know, its another one of those parallels you love so much, as we all do. Blessings - Sherry

    9. Guys, a bit of clarification: as I've mentioned before, I'm not the author of these devotionals! A brother in Christ writes them (through the help of the Holy Spirit :-) I only copy them here (and put a link to the source). I share all the things I find nurturing, encouraging, etc., so of course I agree with the thoughts on the importance of *gentleness* described in this devotional. As Sheila mentioned it, it's awful to witness how some of the believers talk to each other on several other forums like youtube for example, so I thought that sharing thoughts about the importance of gentleness as taught by the Lord and written in Scripture is a timely thing.

  26. Promise #291:
I will give you My power to destroy spiritual strongholds.

    2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (WEB)
    For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

In yesterday's promise from Exodus 14:14, I talked about the importance of us learning to be still and watch the Lord fight on our behalf. In today's promise from 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, we are seeing a different facet to the same diamond.
In this passage of Scripture, the Apostle Paul is exhorting us to learn how to partner with the Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnipotent power that resides in us that will empower us to demolish every spiritual stronghold in our lives.

Paul clearly reminds us that we do not wage warfare like the world does. We have the power of the living God in us that is mighty to save. Our part in this battle is to bring into captivity every thought that opposes the knowledge of God. But just like I said yesterday, we need to understand that we cannot do this in our own strength, for the battle is the Lord's.

We are called in Romans 12:2 to not be conformed to this world, but rather transformed by the renewing of the mind. Our unredeemed thought life will never be in agreement with the mind of Christ. The only way to deal with a carnal thought is to take it captive to the obedience of Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit that lives within us.

So the next time that a negative, condemning, self-centered thought comes into your mind, be encouraged to know that God has given you power by His Spirit to take that thought and make it come into submission to the Lordship of Christ.

It is Christ in you that is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27) and it is His plan that we all be transformed into His image with ever increasing glory, as we behold His face one day at a time. (2 Corinthians 3:18)

    1. This is such an intriguing verse of Scripture, Jimboni. A culminating point? A momentum of change that would not be as they expected--an aggression of a different kind that went over their heads and would be evidenced not by an overthrowing of Rome, but an overthrowing of their traditions of religiosity? Pondersome, to say the least.

Well, it seems Our Lord has Nuanced our language and knowledge, during these wonderful unpacking times, and I can now say, and ALL will understand, that, in short, not to minimize the huge scope within it, yet, to sum it up, poetically, this verse Honors The Authority of the Nail, amen. I'm not really able to think of how this might still develop until NEXT year without the whole earth totally breaking apart and the bride of Christ still calmly sitting on it, the dress still looking nice and pretty, hairdo and make up not completely disheveled... LOL!

    4. Annabel, funny about looking nice and pretty and sitting calmly. Ironically, one of the things that has comforted me greatly in the last few weeks is that dream that I had. In it, the woman, who I believe represented the church, was a sight for sore eyes (this expression means she looked quite disheveled). And yet the Man, Who I believe represented Christ, was quite in love with her. So many times, i have said, but Lord, I am a mess, and He has maintained that very clear image in my mind.

regarding your camels and horses swimming... a quick review of floodlist.com shows an exceedingly large portion of the earth flooded and in distress in the last couple weeks even. 'tis indeed as in the days of Noah.. here we are disheveled in the ark, but grateful and certain of Him.

Halley's comet is a really really important comet for many reasons. This comet has been known and watched since at least 260 BC. It comes by every 74 to 79 years. Very curious that that falls precisely within a generation. Comets might just be a way God lets mankind know when terrible things are coming.

and what if there is a pattern also to when terrible things begin. (clue: look backwards, if you are good at history and see if you can see one)

If this is the case, then we may very very close to terrible things. some perspectives have us raptured just before the terrible things, some have us raptured just after. either way. it is another signal pointing to how close we must be.

  33. If the "appearing" is the 2nd coming like Ryan pointed out, than the bible says we are rewarded for loving Jesus' second coming in 2 Timothy 4:8.

With so much time focused on looking for and loving the rapture lately, are people losing touch with the fact that we are to love his second coming? You may say they go hand-and-hand, but do they really? Is that where people's thoughts and desires are truly fixed, on his 2nd advent? It is something to ponder.

A specific crown is laid up for those who love his appearing, not for loving a rapture that one says happens 7 years earlier than his appearing.

2 Timothy 4:8, "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."

    1. Dear Tracy, I have always understood this phrase adressed to the CHURCH i.e. when we meet with Christ "in the air" 1 Thessalonians 4:17 and "be like Him" 1 John 3:2 so this will be the instant of the RAPTURE in fact rather than His visible "appearing" to the WORLD just 7 years later. We are eagerly looking out for our homecoming into the Father's mansions (John 14:2!) in the first place and not for the digestive riding out after the wedding ceremony for the last part of the great meal at Armageddon...

The word used for 'appearing' is the Greek root word also used for 'epiphany' or manifestation:

      G2015
      Original: ἐπιφάνεια
      Transliteration: epiphaneia
      Phonetic: ep-if-an'-i-ah
      Thayer Definition:
      an appearing, appearance
      Origin: from G2016
      TDNT entry: 09:07,1
      Part(s) of speech: Noun Feminine
Strong's Definition: From G2016; a manifestation, that is, (specifically) the advent of Christ (past or future): - appearing, brightness.

I think as members of the body of Christ the church is rightly looking onto the snatching away in the rapture when our LORD and Saviour appears to us first!

      Delete
    2. PS: In 1 John 3:2 the word translated with 'appear' is very similar to the above G2015 epiphaneia (but just without 'epi'), meaning the following

      G5319
      Original: φανερόω
      Transliteration: phaneroō
      Phonetic: fan-er-o'-o
      Thayer Definition:
to make manifest or visible or known what has been hidden or unknown, to manifest, whether by words, or deeds, or in any other way
      make actual and visible, realised
      to make known by teaching,
to become manifest, be made known
      of a person
expose to view, make manifest, to show one's self, appear
to become known, to be plainly recognised, thoroughly understood
      who and what one is
      Origin: from G5318
      TDNT entry: 09:03,1
      Part(s) of speech: Verb
Strong's Definition: From G5318; to render apparent (literally or figuratively): - appear, manifestly declare, (make) manifest (forth), shew (self).

THAT IS EXACTLY what we are waiting for: Showing Himself to us in person, be made manifest, plainly recognized and thoroughly understood who and what He is. That is "to love His (Jesus') appearing" in the best sense of the term.

    3. StanFoster, no if ands or buts, you are date setting when you set a specific bar AGAINST Christ's return. No different than when you chastise others for setting a specific date FOR
His return. Your view is respected, but please, you needn't be hypocritical and snarky. I know from your expressions @unsealed that you also appreciate kindness from those who disagree with you on this.

Tracy, I totally respect your right to the Post-Trib endurance view as well, however for you to infer that those of us who look for our Beloved Savior in the Pre-Trib Rapture are loving some sort of IDK--vacuous airlift outta here rather than longing for and loving the One who not only Redeemed us all from an eternity in hell, but is coming back to take us Home with HIM is just unkind. That would be like me saying that you are more in love with the idea of martyrdom points than you are with Him in His Glorious Appearing. In all of your arguments I've read over @unsealed, I've never presumed such a thing of you and hope you will reconsider your view of those who take our position. Blessings and Marantha.

    5. If my remark that we are still going to be here a year from now is date setting, then Jesus was a date setter.
Of course he didn't set a date and neither am I. I am using his own words and the Bible that we have many many months to fulfill. This pretrib is a huge deception that requires several scriptures to be ignored, some from Jesus himself.

God bless all of us as we continue on.

My message doesn't sit well here, so I promise this is my last post even if called the worst or offered $1000.

    6. Stan, I'm sorry but that's just childish. You well know how most of us lean on this platform, just like you know how those @unsealed lean. We are not a bunch of dummies who do not study our Bibles and have not made an informed decision as to our path. And you are not going to divert us away from what we are about by mocking us date wise (10/19/19, or one year to the day, I believe is what you said? ) You don't have to be an adamant watcher for our Lord if it goes against your grain, but what I don't understand is why you are then such an adamant watcher of those who ARE adamantly watching--consistent and persistent in your dissuasion. I know a lot of Christians who don't think He is coming anytime soon, but they generally avoid me like the plague. Very strange, even if it is a well-intentioned effort to save us from ourselves since it's not an issue of Salvation. We go up pre-Trib and you are truly one of His, you'll just be real pleasantly surprised. If it were to be Post-Trib, we'd all probably be the first to die (not having prepped our bunkers and all) but either way--for us it's a win-win situation on being with our Lord and Savior ASAP! Maranatha:-)

    7. Annabel, just too funny about the digestive riding out after the wedding ceremony!

We have Stan and Tracy both commenting ... piggy-backing on each other it would seem ...

      Delete
    8. Well then let me finish out my piggyback ride and then I will dismount and move on.

I asked questions and gave people things to ponder. I did not point fingers at anyone specifically or accuse anyone of not also loving his second coming. Since I believe Jesus' 2nd coming /appearing occurs in connection with the resurrection-rapture, it makes sense to love and long for both in accordance with 2 Timothy 4:8. At Jesus' 2nd coming, everything will be fulfilled according to scriptures - all that Christians long for.

I don't usually post on this site, but I felt compelled to do so because of the discussions happening in regards to the "appearing" and the blessed hope. A few of you commented that these are two different things. I highlighted 2 Timothy 4:8 as a reminder of what the word of God says in order to prompt anyone who may not be doing such, as well as a way to hopefully get people to see the inconsistencies that occur in the word of God when a pretrib interpretation is applied. For instance, how can the "appearing" be applied to both the 2nd coming and the rapture if they don't occur at the same event?

I wasn't trying to be unkind. Speaking against a pre-trib doctrine is not an easy thing for me to do. Any type of confrontation, debate, and contentiousness actually goes against my nature. While it may be hard for you to understand, it is difficult for some to sit back and not say anything when they see wrong things happening. Anytime I read about Christians losing faith or becoming so weary because of an unfilled rapture date, I am greatly saddened. I cry out to the Lord for him to give them strength and to open their eyes.

I am trying my best to warn other Christians so that they can prepare - in whatever way that means to them. When the rapture doesn't happen as so many pre-tribbers think it will, then what? Some people can barely endure another month, how can they take several more years? My heart goes out to them.

We know there is going to be a great falling away from the faith, and yet I somehow can't shake the thought that perhaps all of this rapture hype and constant date setting is playing a part in it.

May God give you all strength in the months and years to come.

    9. Tracy, imo, I have seen you as not listening to others because of the driving need to state those beliefs as of paramount importance, nevermind how they may be couched in niceties.
The drive to "instruct" overshadows any sense of concern or care, imho.
Maybe it is time to dismount from that saddle, afterall.

      Delete
    10. Tracy, I know there is no point in arguing with you the numerous distinctions between the Pre-Trib Rapture and the time of the 2nd Advent. I'm sure you've heard them all and can somehow conjoin them, which I cannot do. But what I will say to your concerns re our view pushing people into crumpling and falling away from the faith and your compulsion to try and save as many as possible from such a fate caused by us and those like us---I'm sorry but that is, for lack of a better term, wrong. It denies that it is God, Himself that gives the gift of repentance and brings people to an acknowledging of the truth that they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil. 2Tim.2:24-26. Not you and not me. It's all His work--repentance, faith, salvation justification and sanctification.

We do not have the power to drive anyone away from the saving faith that our God has already imparted to them. I was gifted with that faith almost 22 years ago myself and I was fully expecting Him any day back then based on the knowledge we had, and then 20 years ago, 15 yrs ago, 10 years ago, 5 yrs ago, and now more so than ever. Relatively speaking, the Rapture was being just as "hyped" as you put it, among the faithful back then as was the dissenting opinions. I have the books, magazines, sermon brochures, and prayer journals to prove it.

Life has always had it's struggles for me and for so many in the faith, hard, sad, painful--rife with death and sorrows and it will continue to be so until He does come. But I promise you, no amount of disappointments, failed human date suppositions, or earthly tribulations ever had even the remotest of chances in dashing my faith in the Blessed Hope because it is about Him, The King of Glory and knowing Who He is--having Him in my heart, living inside
of me by the power of the Holy Spirit. What about you--can your faith in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified be shaken by what I believe about how the End Times will play out? If the answer is NO, then please don't worry about us crushing others to whom He has given that same gift of faith. We hopefully can all in one accord trust in the Words of John 16:13.

      Blessings and Looking Up!

  34. Hey Rev12 Fam,

I'm putting this out there for all you curious cats of God's kingdom who love to see His fingerprints in all arenas of life. Also, this has been churning over and over in my mind and I need to get it out! Lol.

I'm a baseball fan and have been keeping up with the postseason this year. The ALCS has just wrapped up, and the NLCS is still ongoing (these are the championship series of each division in the Major Leagues, kinda like the Final Four in NCAA basketball).

I have stumbled onto something really intriguing given that we are in the year of Israel's 70th. Also, we know how pivotal the 2017/2018 swing has been, and there seems to be confirmation of the significance of God's transition from the Gentiles to the Jewish people as shown in the MLB championship series.

Check this out: According to this site, Jewish Baseball News, there were only about 16 Jewish ballplayers on an active roster this year in the MLB. So, considering the number of teams and players in the league, the author of this site (obviously pro-Semitic and probably Jewish himself) has been keeping tabs on the stats of each of these Jewish ballplayers.

And get this: On each of the 4 championship teams of 2018—L.A. Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Red Sox, and Houston Astros—there is a Jewish player, a remnant!

    Dodgers: Joc Pederson
    Brewers: Ryan Braun
Red Sox: Ian Kinsler (traded during the season from the Anaheim Angels)
    Houston Astros: Alex Bregman

Ok, and if that wasn't awesome enough on its own, there is more...

This year (2018) was the year that the Jewish ballplayers collectively broke the record for the most Home Runs hit in a season. You can see the stats here.

The record now stands at 118 HRs. But the story goes deeper, as usual. Ryan Braun of the Brewers helped to push the total to 117...but he had a little help! Watch the video for yourself at the link given above. The ball bounces off of a Gentile outfielder's glove and goes over the fence! Words can't really describe how this aligns so perfectly with Psalm 117; 118—the transition from Gentiles back to Israel. In the MLB this year, it was 117 to 118 in home run totals.

Hope this encourages someone today. The message is clear: Run home, prodigal.

Blessings to you all in Christ.

    2. Jeff, and ofc, to confirm the Relevance of this find NOW, G118 hits on athleó, as in ATHLETICS, oh brother! In light of our converse around Gentleness and who sits First Person in the exercise of Judgement, well, interesting sentence structure in Verse 10, no? Maranatha!

2 Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
3 Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
4 Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
5 I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.
6 The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
7 The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.
8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

    3. Thanks, Sheila! You're not off-base at all. On the contrary, I know that you have an excellent on-base-percentage (OBP). Feel free to share whatever the Lord reveals to you, no matter how murky or mysterious. Whoever has, more will be given, and then we'll all be blessed because of the abundance (thank you, Lord — Matt. 13:11-12).

Jimboni, wonderful additions. And did you know that the Oakland Athletics used to be the Philadelphia Athletics? To me, this adds a whole other dimension to the 1989 World Series (with the notable earthquake in Game 3). The Oakland A's swept the San Francisco GIANTS in that series. I'd say they contended (2 Tim. 2:5) rather well!

    4. Well, this was interesting, Jeff (and I am not a sports fan). I especially liked your saying at the end for any prodigals to run home. It seemed poignant and moreso after reading the very short 117th Psalm. His steadfast love (mercy and kindness) toward us. Tho, in thinking, I see prodigals as believers that are saved and therefore going in the rapture. So I guess, imho, any prodigals reading this - head back on home to the Father, who is steadfast love, who is merciful and kind. Just take that first one step, moving toward home, pleasing the Father as He is watching and waiting for you because He wants to bless you.

    5. I was out walking the circle driveway again earlier and asking the Lord so why Baseball?
Well, it occurred to me that it is widely known as America's favorite pastime, even an idol to many and although America is already beginning to feel the brunt of judgement whether it's recognized as such, or not, and it's going to get a lot worse. And just like when the deadly SF/Oakland quake of Oct.17, 1989 was showcased to the world by the World Series Cameras, we may see some other similar earthshaking event be captured in the same way.

Then I thought about those words re "you won't need shoes" and the name Shoeless Joe popped into my thoughts and I recalled that movie "Field of Dreams. It was released in May of 1989 as well and was about the notorious 1919 World Series Black Sox Scandal that cost Shoeless Joe Jackson his exemplary Baseball career. It was a scheme in which 8 team members of the Chicago White Sox conspired to throw the World Series to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for a tidy sum. He was later acquitted but still banned from the majors for life. (Reds' logo made me think of the eye of the Red Dragon which in turn made me think of how the world will be soon be thrown to the Red Dragon) Joe was born in 1888.

      Gk#1919--epigeios--wordly, (phys. or morally) earthly
World Series--H#1333--bathaq--to cut in pieces, thrust through
Gk#1888--epautophoro--in the very act, an actual crime (1x-John 8:4 referring to adultery)

As they say, you just can't make this stuff up. I'm sure there's more but I got to do some family time. Blessings, All:-)

  35. From the book 2nd Esdras (4th Ezra) some endtimes prophecies to ponder:

    2 Esdras 5
    / / / / /
1 “But about the signs: Look, the days will come when those who live on earth will be seized with great terror. The way of truth will be hidden, and the land will be barren and devoid of faith. 2 Injustice will be multiplied beyond what you yourself see and beyond what you have heard of formerly. 3 The land that you now see holding sway will have no one left to walk upon it, and people will see it desolate. 4 But if the Most High grants that you live, you will see it thrown into confusion after the third period of time. The sun will suddenly start shining by night and the moon by day. 5 Blood will drip from wood, and stones will speak out. Peoples will be troubled, and natural courses will be changed. 6 A person no one on earth expected will come to power, and birds will migrate together. 7 The sea of Sodom will cast up fish; it will utter sounds in a voice that many don't know, but all will hear its voice. 8 Chasms will open up in many places, and fire will be shot forth frequently. Wild beasts will roam beyond their territory, and women will give birth to monsters. 9 Salt waters will be found in sources of freshwater. Friends everywhere will begin to fight each other. Reason will be hidden, and intelligence will go into hiding. 10 Many will look for it, but they won't find it, and injustice and lust will be multiplied on earth. 11 One country will ask its neighbor, ‘Has justice passed through you, doing what is right?' and the answer will be no. 12 At that time people will hope but not get what they hoped for; they will labor, but they will make no progress.

    2 Esdras 6
    / / / / /
15 while the voice is speaking. Since the word concerns the end, and since the foundations of the earth will understand 16 that the speech is about them, the place will tremble and shake, because it knows that it is destined to be transformed." 17 When I heard, I rose on my feet and listened. There was a voice speaking, and its sound was like the sound of deep waters. 18 It said: "Look! The days are coming when I will begin to come near to visit those who live on earth, 19 when I will begin to examine those who unjustly inflicted harm in their cruelty. When the humiliation of Zion is complete, 20 when the seal is placed on the age that begins to pass away, I will perform these signs: Scrolls will be opened in view of the firmament, and all will see together. 21 Infants a year old will speak with their voices, and pregnant women will give birth to premature babies of three and four months, but they will live and dance. 22 Fields that were not sown will suddenly appear sown, and full warehouses will suddenly be found empty. 23 A trumpet will sound with a blast; when all hear it they will suddenly be terrified. 24 In that time friends will make war on friends like enemies, the earth along with those who live on it will be terrified, and the sources of rivers will stand still so that they don't run for three hours. 25 Then everyone who is left after all these things that I have foretold to you will be saved. These will see my deliverance and the end of my age. 26 They will see the people who have been taken up and who haven't tasted death from their birth. The hearts of those who live on earth will be changed and converted to a different spirit, 27 for evil will be erased and grief extinguished. 28 Faith will flourish, and corruption will be overcome. Truth that was without fruit for so long will be displayed."

2nd Esdras is so much interesting with regards to e.g. animal behaviour, birth of monsters (genetic errors of all sorts) and premature delivery in the endtimes etc. and last but not least RAPTURE and RESURRECTION of the dead...

  36. That is a rich trove, Annabel, thanks. Numerous verses within it resonate with headlines over the past months. Here is another interesting find (Wikipedia, below) along the lines of a recently highlighted numeric. Having only peered at the surface, I also found, go figure, a parallel to this same dynamic in Masonic order, oh my.

As a mystical concept, the number 36 is even more intriguing. It is said that at all times there are 36 special people in the world, and that were it not for them, all of them, if even one of them was missing, the world would come to an end. The two Hebrew letters for 36 are the lamed, which is 30, and the vav, which is 6. Therefore, these 36 are referred to as the Lamed-Vav Tzadikim. This widely-held belief, this most unusual Jewish concept is based on a Talmudic statement to the effect that in every generation 36 righteous "greet the Shekhinah", the Divine Presence (Tractate Sanhedrin 97b; Tractate Sukkah 45b).[1]

The Lamed-Vav Tzaddikim are also called the Nistarim ("concealed ones"). In our folk tales, they emerge from their self-imposed concealment and, by the mystic powers, which they possess, they succeed in averting the threatened disasters of a people persecuted by the enemies that surround them. They return to their anonymity as soon as their task is accomplished, 'concealing' themselves once again in a Jewish community wherein they are relatively unknown. The lamed-vavniks, scattered as they are throughout the Diaspora, have no acquaintance with one another. On very rare occasions, one of them is 'discovered' by accident, in which case the secret of their identity must not be disclosed. The lamed-vavniks do not themselves know that they are one of the 36. In fact, tradition has it that should a person claim to be one of the 36, that is proof positive that they are certainly not one. Since the 36 are each exemplars of anavah, ("humility"), having such a virtue would preclude against one’s self-proclamation of being among the special righteous. The 36 are simply too humble to believe that they are one of the 36.[1]

    Maranatha!

I'm very sorry but I lost you here (again?), Jimboni... :-// I didn't quote from 2nd Esdras to deliver some "mystical concept" but to show how the RAPTURE concept is included and divinely announced from OT scriptures long ago already. Ezra was - as we remember - the teacher who led the people of Israel back into understanding of the Torah and invented the pulpit (Nehemiah 8:1-8). The excerpt I quoted from are endtimes prophecies he was shown and explained by Gods angels. Did I miss sth? Blessings...

    2. Annabel, nothing missed, sister. The tradition of the Lamedvavniks is mentioned on its own from recent 'accidental' re-discovery and more in relation to recent focus on '36' actually. However, there is nothing in this tapestry unused of The Father and one of His Gifts to us at this moment is the ability to SEE His Hand where others may see coincidence or nothing at all (Luke 2:49) It's association with your post was not to draw a parallel in source but, rather, in light of some of the extravagant pictures in those verses, along the lines of ideas about such things arising from the Tale we unravel on this Wise Men's Journey, Maranatha!

  37. Promise #292:
I will cover you with My feathers and protect you with My wings.

    Psalm 91:4
"He will cover you with his feathers.
Under his wings you will take refuge.
His faithfulness is your shield and rampart."

Psalm 91 is one of my favorite psalms that speaks of Almighty God's protection and covering. I love the imagery of this verse in particular. Just imagine for a minute what the psalmist is portraying in this verse... The Most High God covers us with His feathers and protects us with His wings.

When I think about this promise, I imagine God as a majestic eagle and we are His little chickadees who live in the shelter and safety of His magnificent wings. Nothing can harm us there. We are completely safe and secure.

Another picture that comes to my mind when I think of this verse is that of a little child who seeks refuge under their dad's raincoat in the midst of a storm, hanging tightly onto his leg, completely sheltered from the storm.

Both pictures bring me a sense of peace and safety and security knowing that God is my refuge and my safe place. This promise does not only paint a nice picture for us, but it declares a spiritual reality that we can live in all the days of our lives.

The truth is that we are safe and secure under the protection of our Heavenly Dad's wings... no matter how scary it is outside of His care! May the reality of this promise become more and more real to each and every one of us!

  38. TREASURES OF WISDOM & KNOWLEDGE
    Colossians 2:1-3
“For I desire to have you know how greatly I struggle for you, and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden. “

There is a vast storehouse of treasures available for every believer. Ephesians 1:3 speaks of this when Paul writes... “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ;”

While this treasure remains a mystery for those who do not yet know Christ, for those of us who have believed, it is part of our spiritual inheritance. This treasure cannot be earned or deserved but is simply given to every son and daughter of the living God.

The more that we begin to 'know' both Father and Son, the more we will begin to grasp the vastness of the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge that are available to us. To 'know' God, is to simply become more intimate with Him. To spend time with Him, to open our hearts to Him and to receive the love He has for us.

My prayer today is that our God and Father would give us the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation so that we would know Him better. And as the eyes of our hearts open up to the spiritual reality of the Kingdom of our God and Father, we would see more clearly the vast treasures of wisdom and knowledge that are available to us as part of our birthright.

    Ephesians 1:15-18
“For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which you have toward all the saints, don’t cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints…”

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Philippians 3:20-21

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
